Hi

... yes, this is a URL with a number of values and encrypted stuff passed back to the server as a request ... there may be something missing at the end that prevents the page from loading properly.

Cheers.

SOURCE: Facebook will not load

Download the mac version of opera browser and see if that fixes the problem.
If it does, then simply use that or re-download safari from Apple's site.

Macbook stuck on load up screen

When you say "load up screen", I assume you mean the Apple boot screen (it has the apple on a gray background).

You might try resetting the PRAM on the macbook.
You can do this by pressing and holding the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.

So, turn the macbook completely off. Turn it on and immediately press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys until the computer reboots and chimes. Once it chimes, release the keys. Your system should boot normally.

You have a bad driver. Reinstall your screen driver or clear your P ram by holding the letters P and R and the control button when you boot your laptop. Hold them until it chimes and reboots.

I dropped my macbook and it comes on but won't load what can I do?

You most likely have a damaged hard drive. I am afraid to tell you that you can either get it serviced, or you can get a new computer all together. Your hard drive sounds like it is beyond use at this point, and it is a pain to get it fixed/replaced. Try buying a newer model of MacBook Pro, they are said to be more durable now. If you go through with getting a new computer, you can also get a protective case for it by ordering one online. Hope this helps, I had my MacBook Po damaged also, so I share the grief.

I recently installed iWork on a new IMac (OS 10.6) but the cursor won't display on Pages so I cannot create any documents. The same software on my MacBook Pro works just fine. Any suggestions. ...

Run Software Updates (Apple Menu in top left of screen > Software Update). There is an update that fixes the document canvas now showing anything. You can tell the document is loading because you can copy and paste form it or look in the Inspector and see the word, page, and character counts.

Problems starting laptop

Your first recourse is to reset the power controller. Since I don't know the exact model and vintage of your MacBook Pro, I will post the reset procedure that applies to most of them.
  1. If the computer is on, turn it off.
  2. Disconnect the power adapter and remove the main battery.
  3. Hold the power button down for five seconds, then release.
  4. Install the main battery and connect the power adapter.
  5. Press the power button to restart the computer.
If this does not solve your issue, your machine will need professional service.

When I put the game in it says loading, and never stops loading. We have never got past that screen to play the game.

It could just be a glitch in the game. If you havent already you should try returning the game for another copy.

My macbook pro makes the startup noise then just stays black

There's a magnetic reed switch in there, to the right of the mousepad. It's activated by a magnet in the screen, so when you close the lid the reed switch closes its circuit and the machine goes into standby. It's common for it to fail. To get your machine to start up again you'll have to remove the problem: open up the case and find that switch. Unplug and remove it and you'll find your problem is solved, although you will of course need to put it to sleep from the Apple menu from then on - it won't do it automatically any more. You can get replacement reed switches but they're not cheap.

Hope that helps!
Matt
