SOURCE: f61 error code

Sorry to hear about your error code F61

This code refers to a High Limit Temp. condition.
This is most likely caused by the cooling fan.
If the Fan has stopped running or not running at full speed, you will recv. this error message and the temp. reaches high-end limit.
Please check the cooling fan, any possible air flow restrictions and correct running RPM.

Hope this information has helped you.
Readers, please rate your technicians information.
Thanks,

I have a technics SA-EH760 i have touched the wire speakers and now have an error code of F61 i have taken the top off but cant see anything obvious

F61 - error code. This will trigger if the unit has gone into overload to avoid further damaged to other parts. The common causes of this error code. 1. Output IC - this is the most common caused of the error code. Once shorts happened to this IC, it will trigger the error code. Exposure to high volume and/or running in the long time will caused this IC to shorts and produce an overload.
2. Shorted Speaker - if one of your speakers shorts, error code will appear also. This may isolate by disconnecting the speaker to the set and play the unit *****. If the symptom still there the fault came from the unit itself.
3. Shorted Inputs - inputs connector is also prone to shorts due to frequent bending and pulling. To isolate this from fault, disconnect all the inputs connected to the unit like the aux input, antenna, mic, etc.
4. Faulty power supply - once gone to out-of-regulation condition, the error code will appear to protect the most expensive parts from further damaged.Bad solder joints in this section is also to consider.
5. Faulty Fan and its circuitry - F61 will appear only after a minute of operation not upon powering on the unit. Check the fan if working or not...
Also, check whether your unit is still within the warranty period, because the manufacturer will fix it for free.

Is not work it is show f61 what dos this mine and how to fix it

The F61 error on Technics audio equipment will depend on the type of unit. However, it could be a problem with the power amplifier IC or with the cooling fan. (If it's the fan, you might be able to clear the error by pressing and holding the power button until the fan starts to spin.)

Please add a comment with the model number of your audio equipment for more information.

I hope this helps.

I have a technics stereo but f61 error on it how do i fix it

F61 is the error code for an amp problem. It may need an amp IC replaced, or, if you're lucky, the may just be bad solder connections on the amp IC's and regulators that are on the heatsink. Most of the technics receivers had an access panel that can be removed from the bottom of the unit, and then you can visually inspect for any bad connections. Check anything that is on the heatsink as these were the biggest problems for this line of receivers.

When pressing the on/off button it is staying red and displayed on screen is F61 and thats all it will do

"F61" protect in other brand is an error code for short/overload on the following.
1. Inputs - speakers, microphone, Audio inputs from cable box, TV, etc.
2. Faulty internal Fan - Once the internal fan gone to malfunction, the unit will automatically turned to this error code to avoid further damaged most especially to the expensive parts like the sound output IC.
3. Power supply - if one of the power supply is not normal, same symptoms will be encountered.
4. Sound output IC - once this IC gone to malfunction, it will trigger the symptoms to avoid further damaged to power supply and speakers.

DIY steps to determine if the fault came from the board inside the unit is by disconnecting all of the inputs, speaker, microphone from the unit and turned it on without them. If the symptoms still persist, #2 - #4 parts needs to check to isolate the problem.

Technics F61 error, can you please tell me what this means?

F61 is the "shorthand" for protection mode for Technics units. Either the regulator IC or the output AMP-PAC IC has failed. Expect a parts cost between $40 -$100 for the repair depending upon which IC has failed.

F61

Sound amplifier ic??******** this guy is talking out of his ***.
F61 relates to fan error. There are two fans, one of them is either spinning too slowly or not at all.
This fan can be purchased in any computer store. Just remove it and take it with you.
