SOURCE: Magic chef oven pilot light out

Hi, If the oven has a standing pilot too, Open the bottom door and locate the main burner. Follow the burner toward the rear of the oven and there will be a flame switch attatched to the burner. Hold the flame near the flame switch and the gas should ignite.
Some model do not have a standing pilot in the oven. Please get me your model number off the label located around the opening of the lower door so I can look this up and instruct you better.

SOURCE: I cant find the stove top pilot

Electric Ignition (sparking clicking noise when control knob is turned to "light" setting) do not have pilots. The spark ignites the gas.

SOURCE: Magic Chef LP range produces soot whenever oven is on.

The vent (shutter) allowing air to mix with the gas has shut. Access the burner with the oven off, of course, and look for the shutter (a sliding 'door'). It usually has one screw holding it n place and an elongated slot to permit adjustment. It may also turn. Since your burner is producing soot, you need to open the shutter more. Loosen the screw and slide the shutter open more. Turn the oven on and look for a nice blue flame, and one that doesn't run too far over the burner. Keeping in mind that everything there will be hot when the burner is on, and also for a long time after it is off, you can use a long-bladed screwdriver to push the shutter back and forth to get the flame you are looking for. If the screw is loose, a gentle tap will be enough. When you are see that optimum blue flame and you are satisfied, let the oven cool off for an hour or so, and final tighten the screw--making sure you haven't moved the shutter much when tightening. If this doesn't work you have a bigger problem and need to call a service person. Your local gas company sometimes will direct you to a person.

I have Magic Chef gas oven. Model CPR1100ADW. The pilot light don't light up nor does it come on. I don't smell gas coming from it. I can't figure what it is. Can you help me.

The oven probably has an igniter to light the pilot, and when not in use, shuts the gas off. Unplug the stove to replace the igniter. Enter your stove info and "how to replace oven igniter" on you tube for videos and detailed instructions.

I have a magic chef furnace, armstrong series if the pilot light and ignightor both work but the burners wont light is it possible the thermocuppler bad?

The thermocouple keeps the pilot light on. If the flame blows out it shuts off the gas to the pilot lite only the board that has the igniter on it supplies power to open the main burner as long as the igniter is operating. Sounds like the gas valve is nor working.

How do I lite the oven pilot

If it's an older model with a true pilot light you turn on the gas at supply line valve, open oven door, remove bottom panel to access pilot and burner. Sometimes it's easier to remove broiler drawer on these models but regardless take a lighter and light pilot. Most models are electronic ignitions which if you have it probably needs replaced if it doesn't ignite the burner in under a minute or minute and 15 secs. It could also be a bad thermostat if the burner ignites within the time period described above

We have a Magic Chef gas oven (model # CPL1100BDW) without electronic ignition. The oven isn't working. The oven pilot is out, can't get it to light, and the oven will not light - (obviously)....

Hello & Welcome to FixYa
If the pilot is clean and still won't light then the problem is with the safety valve that won't open and so needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

My Magic Chef model 9112XUB wall oven will not light. It has power and gas but will not ignite. What can I do to fix it myself?

If this model has electronic ignition, you can open up the broiler door , turn on the oven, and look to the rear of the broiler...there should be a sort of glow plug getting reddish/orange. If not, the oven won't light and you will need to obtain an ignitor for the oven. these are available through appliance parts distributors such as Bell Parts Suppy. If it is a standing pilot model, then first check to see if the pilot is lit...if it's not lit try lighting...if it won't stay lit, then the thermocouple is probably bad and will need to be replaced

Magic Chef range the pilot on the oven will not light.

Is this a manual lighting pilot,do you light it?

If so you may have a bad gas valve.

If this is an auto light pilot it could be the electronic spark is bad.Im guessing the popping noise is the autospark trying to light.

Cpr1100adw magic chef

Most, if not all, gas ovens do not have pilot lights any longer. They are electronically ignited. You could have a loose wire on the igniter or a faulty igniter. If your oven is new it should be covered by the warranty.
