I have a Sony Vaio VGN-SZ230P. I am having difficulty downloading the Fn drivers (such as the volume, screen brightness, etc.) I have went...

There is a specific set of driver you have to install for your computer, Vaio laptops use the ACPI fucnction to control hardware access like volume / brightness control etc
You need the ACPI driver installed for Fn key to work
Install Sony Notebook Control Driver for windows vista
Install Sony Utils.dll
Install Sony Shared Library
same for your sd card reader just reinstall the drivers
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VGNSZ230PB&LOC=3
sony only supports the factory shipped os drivers you will have to find the drivers for 7 elsewhere or reinstall your factory os

I have a vgn-ns140e 32 bytes sony vaio notebook but it mark me and DRIVER error OF THE CPI/SNY5001WHERE I CAN DOWNLOAD THE DRIVER?

Hi, do you mean the ACPI/SNY5001 device? And do you have Vista or XP installed?
1)This is the Vista driver you need:
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNNS140E&upd_id=3786&os_id=28

2)For XP this is the driver:
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNNS140E&upd_id=3936&os_id=7

You might need to install it via Device Manager
Right click on the ACPI\SNY5001 device->Update driver... and point it to your files where you downloaded the driver – it will find the INF and install sucessfully.

Purito

Computer Freezes During OS's (both xp and vista) setup.

This sounds like a HAL problem, have you tried to intall by disabling ACPI. You do this by hitting F7 during the screen that asked if you want to install additional drivers. You hit F6 to install additional drivers and F7 to skip the ACPI check. You can also hit F5 to try one of the ACPI layers that comes up. If you hit F7, this disables ACPI silently, you never see anything come up. If you hit F5 a screen will come up with some options, use the arrow buttons to scroll through the choices as only three choices show at a time.
