110.7302101 propane gas dryer will not heat - Sears Kenmore Elite Gas Dryer Front Load Steam 8.0 Cu. Ft

  • Anonymous Oct 02, 2012

Try the following basic troubleshooting steps.1. Make sure that the coils are getting power by moving the timer between normal dry and cool down (toward the end of the cycle).  You should hear a click to indicate that the circuitry is working.2. Open dryer access panel (usually on the front bottom), and then start the dryer on heat.  Look at the burner tube, you should see a glow, for a few seconds and then the gas should start to flow, and the flame lights.  Afterward the glowing igniter should shut down and just the flame should remain.  What you do next depends on what you observe here.

More than likely your glow coil has failed and you will need to replace it.

Kenmore gas dryer works but no heat, model# 110.20702990.

make sure the exhaust vent is not plugged. shut gas off, disconnect hose, start dryer. stop and reconnect hose turn gas back on and try again.
also a propane dryer can work on on natural gas but it is very dangerous to run a natural gas dryer on propane because the orfice is too big.

My dryer doesn't produce heat. the coil ignites

It's likely one of the coils is opening a break in the coil as the coil heats up. This coil will shrink when cool and be able to run again. In your machine, it appears Amana doesn't sell the coils as a separate item and the whole valve needs to be replaced. The part number is Y504091.

Disconnect power and turn off gas before working on this dryer. Working on gas dryers is not recommended for people who are not professionals.

Service on gas appliances should be undertaken by professionals only due to the danger of gas leakage which can cause fires or death by asphyxiation.

At front, remove 2 screws near floor at the bottom of the lower front panel. Pull bottom of panel toward you and down. The gas valve should now be accessible on the left. Take care not to touch or hit the ignitor or you will be replacing it also. It is VERY brittle.

Reverse process to re-assemble.

Bosch dryer not heating

make sure you try it a couple of times. gas takes a long time to travel to the pipes. no way to purge the lines.

check if there is propane in the new tank, check if the valve is open, check if the propane is at the hose going to the dryer already.

tnx 4 using fixya,
