SOURCE: need new power supply for this tv
I like you last comment. LOL
All brand of TV are having somewhat the same problems.
I believe a law needs to pass to have the TVs last longer than 5 years. I see TVs all the time only lasting 16 months.
This web site has 2 complete power supplies in stock right now. Here's the link:

The most likely the TV has a power supply related problem or it maybe just a blown fuse inside the TV.
I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet.
If by some chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.
If not under warranty and If you have some electronic experience, you can purchase a Service Manual over the internet and diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists. Usually, cost under $20.
I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

Check the powersupply/inverter board for bad capacitors. Also check the CCFL bulbs in the top and bottom for poor solder connection - replace if necessary.

Why do questions like this one show as having "Solutions"?
Does anyone else find it irritating when you click on all the "solved" questions only to find a bunch of dead ends?
I waste so many hours of my life clicking these damn things.
Once in a while you'll find a good solution with in depth, straight forward information.
The rest of the time it's just a bunch of uneducated guesses or people trying to bump it.
I don't contribute to what I just spoke of, let me advise the closest I've come yet to fixing this TV...
RED LED, NO PICTURE = Bad Main board.
I've changed out a dozen or so caps that read high for ESR.
Most of them were the 220uF/25v.
I'm going to revisit this board again as I neglected to test the tiny little electrolytic 10uF, 22uF variety.
From there, I plan to chase the voltage around the board and see where it stops.
If you're not insane like me, and you would like an easy solution, buy a new main board.
But I'm crazy, and I'm going to whip this bastard TV, I promise.
If you don't hear from me soon, just know that I fought my hardest in battle,
and in doing so, I died with honor. ...even though I left a load in my shorts from getting electrocuted by the Polaroid.
