There are a few things about Blu-ray region codes you should know about before buying a Blu-ray player. One of them is that Blu-ray region codes mean that Blu-ray players sold in a specific region can only play Blu-ray discs that are made to be played in that region. There are in total 3 different regions, labeled A, B and C.
Region A: North America, South America, U.S. Territories, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and other areas of Southeast Asia
Region B: Europe, Africa, Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand.
Region C: Asia (except for Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and other areas of Southeast Asia)

You can download a region-free Blu-ray player and then you can play the region-locked discs on the player. Try Leawo Blu-ray Player which is free.

Works on the BDP 2700 -
turn on player without disc. push home button(looks like a house) on remote. enter 1389310 using remote. wait 10 sec then turn off at front of player. wait 10 sec then turn on at front of player.

I believe the 7200 is not able to be unlocked for region free play though

I bought a DVD set from Ireland and it won't play on my DVD player or my Wii. Is there a setting I need to change?

Hi there!
North American TVs, consoles and DVD players play video and games in the NTSC format (region 1), while Ireland's and most of Europe's play in PAL(region 2). You best bet to be able to watch your dvd set will be to purchase a dvd player that plays multi regions (these will be a bit more expensive) or to order a region 2 dvd player from Ireland or somewhere in Europe that uses region 2.

Hope this helps!

Cannot find an unlocking code for my new dvd player: Toshiba XDE600KB. 40% of my dvd collection is from region 1, when my husband was in Canada. We are in England (region 2) & none of them will play.

Kelly - If you have the EU version the following will work if they haven't upgraded the firmware so it won't work. worth a try. I couldn't tell for sure from your post exactly which wouldn't play, the region 1s or 2s.
  • turn on dvd player
  • open tray
  • press "35147199" on remote
  • turn off dvd player
  • turn dvd player back on & you should have an open region player

If it's the US version there is no known Region Hack (At least that I could find).

Good Luck and Thanks for using Fix Ya.
