    Tried turning on Wi-Fi in settings but it can't find the moden sitting right next to it. Several other devices showing strong Wi-Fi signal from modem. Thinking about doing a factory reset.

Did your son reset the tablet password, or your google account password? if it was the google account password then if you go to the GMail website you can reset your password there. Its saying its incorrect because the information which is being entered is wrong
