Why won't my laptop load windows 7 when turned on? All I get is a black screen with acer on it.

Wdk, Try starting up in safe mode and use system restore to go back to an earlier date when PC ran OK, an update or virus may have corrupted the start up. Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck

try going to the bios screen and re installing the windows

dont know d reasons. but try with win xp.
Format c drive properly.
then if you want upgrade with win7..

Check that you do not have the laptop setup for external monitor only. Using the FN key look for a function key that has a picture of a monitor and press this key in combination with the FN key.

The windows files are corrupted or the hard drive has issues, load cd installation disc if available, if that fails have the hardware checked for possible replacement.

tried to remove the battery and then re attached, turn on the pc laptop check if it works.

To repair corrupted system file/s, boot up with the Windows installation CD then -
Press R to repair when instructed.
Press 1 or Enter to repair the C:\Windows folder.
Then type chkdsk /r and then press Enter.
The repair process will take quite a long time.

I suggest you reinstall the windows 7 again. The installation was interrupted because the battery ran out of power, the result was a corrupted and incomplete installation of windows. And that is the main reason why you are just getting a blank screen.

The average life of a laptop is 5 years. Your model was made in 2008. Replace it.

if you upgraded it through an internet connection there's a possibility your windows OS will crash, better or try to reformat it with a windows installer dvd.
