Broken screen for logitech harmony 1000

Try pressing the reset button, or holding the power button until it turns off. If that doesn't work take out the batteries and wait then put them back in.

I would advise you do a firmware update. With anything, if you can remove the batteries and get it to work, the firmware is usually the fix that will resolve the issue. If you dont know how to do a firmware update, just look at the link below!

1. Remove the battery
2. Re-insert the battery and try again
3. Manually place the remote into 'Safe Mode' by holding Off while putting in the Battery. (Do not use the USB to put the remote into Safe Mode)
4. Update the firmware, to do this, please see below:
i. Log into the Logitech Harmony Remote Software on your computer
ii. Click on the Downloads button at the top-right corner of your screen
iii. Click on the Firmware button. Follow the onscreen instructions to upgrade the firmware on your Harmony remote
iv. Once the firmware upgrade is complete, click on the Update Remote button
v. Test your remote.
5. Update the configuration.

Look for a little tiny hole that resets it, usually a paper clip does it.

I tried the 2 solutions i was given but it still didn't fix the problem, I ended up calling logitech tech support and they advised me to install the software and download new programs for the remote, after about 1/2 hour and recalibrating the complete software/ firmware the problem was fixed.

The harmony remotes have a built in safe mode, similar to a Windows XP computer. Usually you enter the safe mode on the harmony remotes by taking the battery out, then pressing the power off button and holding while putting the battery in. If you continue to press the power off button, the remote will display safe mode on the screen.

If you are not doing the above procedure and you are still getting the safe mode on the display of the remote, I would try to update the firmware on the remote. And if you have an RF Extender, update the firmware on it at the same time.
