A J3 means the toner cartridge is not compatible. That is the what the J3 message means.
Make sure the correct cartridge has been installed. For example, a Pro16 Toner Cartridge looks very similar and will fit in the machine, but it will display a J3 fault. Install a known correct Toner Cartridge if you suspect the cartridge in the machine is the problem. If the wrong Toner Cartridge has been used, the correct cartridge needs to be ordered and installed in the machine
It is possible the chip on the back of the cartridge is bad. Have you tried reseating the cartridge? Maybe it is just loose.

There are a couple of different types of cartridge on those machines.

One is made for a machine that pays per copy and one that you bill for the cartridge.

If you have the old cartridge, there is a microchip on back held on with one phillips screw. You can swap the chip and see if the message changes. the info I sent is directly out of the 215 mannual.

I have a workcentre pro 215, this have a circle red light on, somebody could help me? thanks

That is the signal to reaplace the drum cartridge. It has a life of 18-20 thousand pages and then that light comes on meaning it needs replaced.

Xerox pro 215, error H4 please help

H4 is a fuser error....not getting up to temperature.

Press [C] (Clear), press [Image Quality], press [C] (Clear) again, press [Image Quality] again.

If this doesn't bring it back to operations then the fuser lamp needs to be replaced.

Xerox WorkCentre Pro 215 E2 Error Code

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

Xerox Workcentre Pro 215

This should resolve that fault code

NOTE: Some Status codes will not clear even though the problem has been fixed. Status codes that will not clear must be manually reset using the 'Fault Reset 14 Procedure'.
  1. Locate the [C] (Clear) button on the Control Panel, at the far right.
  2. Locate the Image Quality button, below the Auto on the Control Panel, toward the left side.
  3. Press the buttons in the following sequence within 4 seconds. Press [C] (Clear), press [Image Quality], press [C] (Clear) again, press [Image Quality] again.
  4. The error code should disappear. If the Status code does not clear, repeat step 3 until the status code clears; but no more than five times.
  5. Use the [10] and [1] buttons to enter 14 on the Display Screen, as if you were to make 14 copies.
  6. Press the [Start] button. The machine should be ready to use.
  7. Make a copy, to check that the machine is working properly
