If you have the cd installer of the acer aspire 3000 PC. Insert it to your cdrom drive and the autoplay will execute and load the cd installer. Install only the audio driver so that your hardware will be fix.

In case you do not have the cd installer, you can also download the driver installer from their official website and install the audio driver after downloading or visit this acer support website.

After installing the audio driver but still no sound, download this codec this will play all the multimedia format. Click this link and click the download latest version for mozilla firefox browser click save, for internet explorer after clicking the download latest version click the (To help protect your security) then click download file then click save button. After downloading, install the program just next, next and after installing play any multiplayer format. Have a nice day.

Get a paperclip and bend it out so its in one long pin, put that in the tiny hole on the front of the cd drive and move it gently forward and back, this should release the drive so it opens and hopefully its just a case of a cd jammed in there which will free it up once you remove it.

This could be caused by two seperate issues:

1. The actual wirecard that is inside the laptop has been damaged or gone out. This can be caused by overheating or dust. Try getting a can or air, unplug the laptop and blow the dust gently to remove dust. If overheating is causing the issue, try letting the laptop cool down a few hours.

2. Driver issue - This can also be caused by a missing or deleted driver. You can visit the manufacturer's website and redownload the driver free.

I'm not sure if this model has a hard drive test feature in the BIOS but it sounds like there may be a HD problem so the first thing is to run a diagnostic on it.

Acer's European Site often has better drivers for download (or actually has the drivers when the US Site does not).

are you install OS inside you notebook is windows xp profesional SP2???? because follow my information the rest of driver can istall just by the acer cd driver only driver display and wireless you nees to download from other link internet.

did you mean the factory settings in the bois? please be more specific.
