My daughters name is on my outgoing email instead of mine

When i send my email out..it has my daughters name on it instead of mine...it should have [email protected] but it has amy soto
can you please help me change this..i don't know why it does this...it always has and i dont know how to fix it..

Go to your mail and some ware ther is a prefrence tab or link she has the auto signature on check the button for no auto sig and this will stop it

Goto Messages - Email - Settings - New Account
Give a name for the account (Yahoo)
Settings
Connect using - give your gprs connection name
Email address - your email address
Connection type - POP3
Incoming server - pop.mail.yahoo.com
username - your email username
password - your email password
outgoing server - smtp.mail.yahoo.com

Now goto advanced settings

Set the check interval
Encryption - TLS/SSL
Incoming port - 995
Outgoing port - 465

Step 1 Tap the "Mail" app on your iPad's home screen, tap "Other" and tap "Mail Account." If you already have an email account set up, tap the "Settings" icon on the home screen, tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" in the sidebar and tap "Add Account."

Step 21 Type your full AOL email address in the form "[email protected]" into the "Address" box. If you have an AOL email address with a different domain, such as "@games.com" or "@love.com," use that domain instead.
Step 31 Enter your AOL email password into the "Password" box.
Step 41 Type a description for your email account into the "Description" box and tap "Next."
Step 51 Tap "IMAP" at the top of the New Account pane.
Step 61 Type "Imap.aol.com" into the "Host Name" box under "Incoming Mail Server."
Step 71 Type "Smtp.aol.com" into the "Host Name" box under "Outgoing Mail Server."
Step 81 Enter your full AOL email address into the "Username" boxes under both "Incoming Mail Server" and "Outgoing Mail Server."
Step 91 Enter your AOL email password into the "Password" boxes under "Incoming Mail Server" and "Outgoing Mail Server."
Step 101 Tap "Next." Your iPad verifies the settings.

Not downloading new emails

You may have to setup your email program settings:

You can find these settings on your desktop computer and check to see if they match the laptop's settings.

I CANNOT OPEN OR SEND EMAILS

  1. Cannot send email but able to receive
    Typically, POP based email accounts have the same address for incoming and outgoing email servers. However, sometimes the email service provider might have a different outgoing email server which has a different username and password (next point). Please check with your provider for details if you cannot send email but can receive.Is the outgoing email server address correct?
    The outgoing email server (SMTP) address needs to be correct for you to send messages from the account. You can find this information in the email you have received from your web host.

    The outgoing email server address would typically be based on your web site's address, unless the server has been configured differently. Thus, if your web site's URL is www.my-web-site.com, the outgoing email server address would be either my-web-site.com or mail.my-web-site.com (substitute my-web-site.com with your actual domain name).

Pop email settings with godaddy domain

I FINALLY GOT THE ANSWER! I ALSO HAVE A GODADDY EMAIL ADDRESS AND USE A HTC TOUCH PHONE FROM SPRINT. I've entered the following settings and my email now works like a charm! This is for a POP3 email address, not an IMAP email address.

You cannot send the email unless you have a sprint email address. Email must go through the Sprint server in order to be sent (incoming mail does not).

Call Sprint Tier II (877.345.7895) and ask them to set you up with a User Name and Password for the outgoing mail server. All the rest of the settings are as follows:

EMAIL SET UP Email Address: [email protected] Your Password: the password you use to access your go daddy account Check SAVE PASSWORD Click NEXT UNCLICK TRY TO GET EMAIL SETTINGS AUTOMATICALLY FROM THE INTERNET. Click NEXT. Your Email Provider: Internet Email Click Next Your Name: Dales Wife Account Display Name: 'GoDaddy Email" or whatever you'd like to call it so you can identify this account (you can have several email accounts sent to your phone). Click NEXT Incoming Mail Server: pop.secureserver.net Account Type: POP3 Click NEXT User Name: Again enter [email protected] Password: Enter your password again Check SAVE PASSWORD Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server: smtp.sprintpcs.com CHECK Outgoing server requires authentication UNCHECK Use the same user name and password for sending email Advanced Server Settings: DO NOT Check: Require SSL for Incoming e-mail DO NOT Check: Require SSL for Outgoing e-mail Click DONE to return to previous screen Click NEXT Outgoing Server Login: [email protected] Password: When you call Sprint Tier II they will ask you what password you'd like. Check Save Password. Automatic Send/Receive: I use every 5 minutes and it doesn't seem to run my battery down. Click FINISH. This has been driving me crazy for two months now so I really hope this information helps somebody else out. Best of luck! NOW, if anyone knows how to remove those annoying envelopes when I access my mail - I could use the help. There are three envelopes there (one for GoDaddy mail, one for Outlook and one for Picture Mail.) I do not use Outlook or Picture Mail and would love it if I could remove those.

E mail error550 I am not receiving or sending

You need to check your outgoing mail server name and the authentication associated with the account you are using. In other words, your email client (like Outlook or Thunderbird) has an outgoing mail server name and an account name and password setting. Try this:
Open your Outlook (or other mailer) settings (Tools > Accounts)
Go to View/Change email account for the email account you are having problems with.
Check that the SMTP Server is set to yourdomain.com
Go into the "More settings", "Outgoing Server" tab and make sure that the option "My server requires authentication" for the Outgoing server is checked ON. Save and close all windows. Try again.

It will be slightly different for other mail programs, but you should see the same type of information, but maybe in other tabs/windows.
