Tape won't eject,tv keeps shutting off

Shows "eject T" on screen-will not eject tape and shuts tv off after about 10 seconds. Was not playing or rewinding, etc.tape manually before this incident.TV would shut off if rewind button was hit on tv itself-not remote-and now no button on tv or remote is helping to stop and eject this tape.

Shuts off when trying to play or record

This could be due to the VHS tape sticking on the tape reel, that triggers the overload and the shutdown. Try fast forwarding if possible.

TV keeps shutting off after 10 seconds

It's possible from what you described that your center LED or prisim was broken when the tape was extracted. Like many others these units depend on a series of startup checks and one being the tape path. On the play table of the VCR is a center prisim/LED and two light sensitive diodes on either side of the tape loading assembly. If these diodes do not detect the infared beam the unit will go into shutdown. I'd check there and let me know. Bill

VCR Tape will not play, it keeps ejecting

I have a similar problem. It takes 3 or 4 times to get my Sony VCR to accept a tape. Once it does, everything is fine, until I turn it off. Next day, same trouble. I tried several tapes and brand new tapes. No difference. I have opened the cabinet and used alcohol to clean various stuff, no change.

VHS problem, any help?

It sounds to me like you have a problem with the reel sensors not detecting movement of the tape through the VCR. This could also be caused by a defective voltage regulator(s) that powers the sensors. This model was made by symphonic/funai (1-800-242-7158), and it is not likely worth repairing.

Tape Loading Error

theres a loading problem with the mechanism. It could be a nylon cam thats cracked and thrown it out of mechanical alighnment??? this is not for the handy man repairer!!! this should be taken to a repair shop for an estimate! as there are hundreds of volts inside a tv that can cause you to be seriously killed!!
