Multi color stripes on 60 inch sony wega, no picture

Trinitron tubes are the best ever built picture tubes - long life, best contrast and sharpness, brilliant colors, etc thou u never get with any modern lcd screen. otherwise the big form factor is uncompareable with todays thin screens. also the brand itself and in your case the wega model is a name on its own high standard. anyway i would recommend you to let your tv check by a local service cause it sounds like a electronical problem - let them tell you how much aproximately fixing will count - before they repair it - so you still can decide is it worth or not. hope to helped a bit.

How old is the tv? For the problem like this with the Sony Wega, you can do a power reset. Power off the TV and unplug the power cord from the electrical socket. Wait for like 1 minute, plug it back then turn it on.

If it doesn't work, then your Digital Mirror Device on the tv failed. You can call sony customer service at 1800 222 7669 to verify this hardware problem.

after changing the lamp, I still had the same problem as you. I contacted sony and they offered me a brand new 40 inch bravia flat screen tv replacement...at no cost! If I chose a 46" or 55" there would be a charge between $325

most likely, buy you a lamp and install it yourself, the owners manual tells you how to do this.

I bought a new blub for it and the light still goes green then red.Anybody know?? mg

It sounds like to me you have a bad Optical Block. It is a expensive repair and you may want to call Sony at 1800-222-SONY and see if the would assist you in repairs. Due to the age of it, they would probably only cover a partial amount of the repair.

TV is a Sony WEGA 61" model # KDF-E60A20

Problem solved. I tried playing DVD and the TV picture was fine. So I double-checked cable wires from cable box - one of the wires was loose (obviously it was the red color input). After tightening, the TV picture is good as new.

take your tv to a tech the tv is having problem in the color circuit and the vertical circuit.
