How to install original settings to aspire netbook

Save any files or folders on your Acer Aspire One with flash drives.
Drag and drop files onto the icon of your flash drive. Go to "Start" > "Restart" to reboot your netbook. Hold down "Alt" and "F10" when you see the Acer logo on the screen. The recovery menu will load. Hit "Enter" and then "Next" to see your recovery options. Choose "Factory Restore" to set your netbook back to factory settings. Follow the instructions on the screen. Choose your time zone and language when the customization menu appears. Reboot the netbook when you are prompted. Restore your saved files from the flash drive. Hoe this helps.

If acer gives you a cd wherein you can insert it and reformat back to original settings, please make sure you shut down the pc and then press repeatedly F12. Then select Boot to CD. Follow the prompts and select Format C: drive to begin reformatting it..

You could use Windows System Recovery to place you're computer on a previous state and you don't gonna need another copy of windows 7

All Acer netbooks have a factory install image on a hidden partition of the hard disk. Suggest you should re-install the original windows xp factory image. All user data on the C: drive will be cleared by Acer eRecovery which you would start up as follows....
1. have the netbook connected to its AC adapter which is plugged into AC power line
2. power on the netbook and watch the screen as it starts up
3. when the acer logo is showing, hold down the Alt key and press F10 repeatedly
4. until screen indicates Acer eRecovery is loading
5. once eRecovery is loaded, follow the directions given on the screen

1. Consider what data you still need from your Acer Aspire One's hard drive. Save the files to an external USB device.
   

2. Restart the Acer Aspire One's operating system. Wait for the Acer logo to appear on the LCD screen.
   

3. Press the "Alt" and "F10" keys at the same time to bring up the recovery menu. Press "Enter."
   

4. Click "Next." Follow the prompts that appear on the screen to restore the operating system back to factory settings.
   

5. Use the drop-down boxes to select the time zone and language information for your Acer Aspire One. Restart the netbook when you are prompted to finish restoring the computer.
   

6. Connect the external USB device to your Acer Aspire One and transfer the data you saved earlier back to the netbook.

Put the original setup CD-ROM into your CD-drive.
Restart the computer.
Tell it to "boot" from the disk in the CD-drive.
Choose "repair an existing Windows installation",
and let it fix the problem.
Remove the CD-ROM disk.
Restart your (repaired) computer.

Format the drive, then RE-install an operating system such as xp, or windows 7 .... it should install most of the correct drivers. You may have to go to the manufactures website to find the exact drivers for the video and sound cards., but that should pretty much return it to factory settings. If you are really picky and have the bucks, you can contact ACER for the original disks.

need to bios update. its acer's well known  problem. you should go to service  they will do it under warranty

Hopefully you got the recover disc with your Acer Netbook. You need to re-install your original operating system.
