There is two methods of removing the back of this style of watch. Look closely at the back of the watch. If it is completely smooth there will be a notch or groove where you can gently, but firmly, lever the back cover off. Use a small screwdriver or a thin flat edged tool, NOT a knife! Refitting is a firm, constant pressure over the whole of the back cover.
If there are regular notches, grooves or holes or around the edge of the cover it is a 'screw off' cover. You may need a specialist tool to remove these back plates.
Depending on how much the watch is worth and the cost of the battery it is probably just as easy to get a watch repair shop to do it for you.
I have seen other burberry watches and the back should pop out . 1- Locate a very small tab or recessed area on the edge of the back cover 2- Pull out the stem, which releases the back on some watches.3- Get a small flathead screwdriver it needs to be a thin inflexible tip 3- Very carefully slide the blade under the tiny metal protrusion on the back cover (or across the length of the recessed area, depending on which type of cover your watch has). 4- When you replace the cover, make sure you line up the stem slot on the cover with the stem of the watch. mcdevito75 here, Most Lorus watches use a press fit back cover on their watches, simply us e a knife with a sharp edge between the case and cover and with a slight twisting motion the cover should come off, Also Look for any slots in the cover that match a slot in the case, or a very slight extension or lip on the cover, this is where you"d place the knife and use a slight twisting motion to remove the cover. On some watches, the cover will pry off using a very small flat-bladed screwdriver or will have screws holding the cover on. On other brands the entire cover will unscrew. Examine the edge of the back cover. If there is one small depression along the edge of the cover then the cover will pry off. If there are screws present, the cover will lift off after the screws are removed. If the cover has a raised edge with flat edges opposite one another then the cover will unscrew.
Try removing the rubber washer or the black band on the cover then try snapping it back on. I removed the washer and placed it on the back of the watch before I placed the cover on and it just snapped back on.
