SOURCE: loud noise during spin cycle

Spin bearing is rusted from a water leak under the tub. Forget it, buy another brand.

SOURCE: Washer won't agitate or spin out.

Well it is ethier Belt, Cluch ,motor ,Or transmission. But it does sound like your transmission . The loud clunk is the brake in the gear case ( Trans.). It might have broken off.

SOURCE: Today, my washing machine started

if the noise is in the drum the usual culprit is a rogue Bra underwire. look for it poking through any of the holes in the drum and pull it back if you can, otherwise it can be retrived through the heater location (requires some emgineering skill to remove and replace heater). if the noise is from the motor it will be a segment broken away from the armature . this requires a new motor.

LG front load washer makes thumping sound in spin cycle. It sounds like fun rubs when machine is filling . It is not off balance.

Check the machine legs and ground level properly, and also dont put a single blanket or a single weight cloth sure it will make noise..

My whirlpool duet washer hammers very loud when it spins. The outside of the machine doesn't seem to vibrate much but it is very loud.

That is a common occurrence with dryers such as this one. Even though it sounds bad, it is harmless. If it really bothers, you can re-balance the load and it should reduce the vibration.

Very noisy when on spin. The machine seem to be balanced however the noise on spn is like a jet taking off. it gets louder as the spinning speed increases.

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

Makes a loud banging noise as if the load is underbalanced even through the load is balanced.

HI There
Try this even tho you said it's balanced. Sometimes it looks like but a slight unbalanced can cause this problem.

I have an Estate Heavy-Duty Washing Machine by Whirlpool. It's about 2½ years old and I wash 2 medium to large loads per week. I've taken good care of it and it's been an excellent machine until...

There are three springs under the transmission that help balance the machine. The top ring on the outer tub is filled with water, also to help keep machine in balance. There are three pads the carriage rides on that also has the same function. I would check these plus make sure the machine is level with all four corner feet touching the floor. If all these are correct, the machine will stay balanced. You can go to www.partselect.com enter your model number. The site will give you a parts blowup that will give you an ideal where these parts are located. You can see and replace the springs by tilting machine back.

Machine makes a thumping noise when spinning

If its thumping you have the maching overloaded and the clothes (very easy to do with heavy jeans or sweaters) are all on one side causing an out of balance situation. Try relocating some of the clothes to the other side of the unit and if that doesn't seem to help remove some of the clothes to eas the load on the machine otherwise it will never reach maximum spin speeds needed to rinse your clothes.

Burning smell and smoke

Sounds like the belt has burnt off. You can check this by tilting the machine back and looking under it. Sometimes the belt gets hard and just starts to slip, then it will smoke and burn off. If this is the case, Just replace the belt and this will fix it.
