Ge ice maker not getting water to it even though the door is getting water

Our ice maker went out but it was still running water. So we replaced it with this model and it says this model is compatible with our freezer. However it is not getting water in it. We can put water in it ourselves and it will harvest the ice. When you use the door to get water you still get water out of the door. Any help would be much appreciated

SOURCE: GE side by side refrigerator: water/ice dispensor

I bought a brand new smartwater replacement filter and after a very short time, my water stopped coming through the door.. took out the new replacement filter and inserted a brand new one .. problem solved.. apparently some of the g.e. smartwater filter replacement cartridges don't have the high enough two plastic inserts which are attached to them at the top of the filter when you screw them on... if you have taken your cartridge in and out a few times, i think it wears down the plastic so it doesn't fit properly and won't put up whatever it is supposed to push up to make the water come through.. I personally think this is a g.e. problem with the replacement filters...

SOURCE: Ice maker not working

If your ice maker has stopped producing ice completely, check these, in this order:

  • It may be turned off. Look for the wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If the wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. If so, try one of these:

    • If your ice maker has a small red plastic lever, lower it to lower the wire.

    • If there's no plastic lever, simply lower the wire.

In either case, the ice maker should begin producing ice again. Also make sure that the temperature is 8 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. If the freezer is too warm, the ice maker won't cycle properly.

  • The ice maker fill tube may be blocked with ice. If so, melt the blockage using a hair dryer-but be careful to not melt any plastic parts! Also replace the water shut-off valve or water-inlet valve, or both, if necessary.

  • The ice maker head assembly may have broken parts. Look to see if the gears are broken. Check to see if the small plastic arms that rest against the ice rake are broken. If the ice maker head assembly is modular and you've found broken parts, you can just replace it.

Hello. My G.E. Monogram water dispenser trickles water after we get water from it. We have to keep a cup there to catch the excess water. How do I fix it so it stops as soon as we get water out of t

Try replacing the Water Valve. It is located in the back of the refrigerater, left side. You should see three tubes connected to it. This part fixes the following symptoms - Leaking water, Water dispenser will not dispense water, Ice maker will not make ice and Ice maker won't dispense ice. GE part#WR57X10032. The Water Valve is extreemly easy to replace. Only takes about 15 mins total time to remove, install and confirm. I just replaced mines..my problem went from leaking water to no water was dispensing at all. I have the GE Profile, it uses the same water valve as your GE Monogram. There is a You Tub video that also shows how to replace. Good Luck!

Ice maker wont make ice

Is water getting into the ice tray of maker? If not check for the water solenoid's proper operation. Is freezer temp at least 10 degrees or less? If not, the ice maker will not work. If ice in tray then perhaps the heater element is not working to melt it a tad ans allow the fingers to pudh the ice out and into the tray.

You can get those suckers for about 40 bucks new on ebay eBayeBay

The in-door water stopped working. The ice maker still gets water, but there is no water coming out of the door dispenser.

You more than likely have a bad water valve. Unfortunately, the water valve is a double valve ,one side services the ice maker, the other side the water dispenser.Even though the ice maker is getting water the whole valve has to be replaced. Hope this helps

We accidently left the freezer door open during the entire night and now icemaker doesn't dispense on monogram refrigerator, even though ice maker makes ice.

you might want to turn the whole fridge off (remove the food to a safe place) and let the fridge defrost, wipe any water up and retry. If it is under warranty, call GE

GE Hot Point side by side Refrigerator

Okay this is pretty easy to find. Just trace where your water line comes into the back of the refer. You may have to remove the back panel. As you trace it in you will see where it comes to the valve. The solenoids are on the valve, one for the water (if you have water and ice in the door) and one for the ice maker. Both solenoids are on the same valve. If your ice maker runs and dumps fine and you don't have any water on the floor then it is your valve (water side) even though your ice maker is fine you may have to replace the whole valve as it is one unit.

Icemaker will not was dispense ice

My icemaker stopped producing ice. We turned off the water line to it when we went on vacation for a week. We turned the water back on when we got home and since that time it won't produce ice. We can still get water from the door dispenser though.
