Need to know the OHLMS rating for speakers

Bose Lifestyle Speakers - we are using back Bose speakers with a Panasonic system that sends at 3 ohlms. We need to know if that will damage either the Panasonic system or the speakers - are they compatible?

You can measure the resistance of the voice coil on the driver. Multiply that by 1.25 to get the approximate impedance. This is just an estimate, but will be fairly accurate on most woofers that have smaller magnets. If the driver has a large magnet, then you should multiply by 1.5 to 1.75 or so. Round result to the nearest whole number.

Hello! The impendance of the "speakers" does not be "minor" of the "system" . If your system is
3 Ohms, yours speakers must be 3 Omhs too, or 4, 6, 8... Use serial or paralel conectios. Ex.: 3 Ohms +3 Ohms in series = 6 Ohms ---- 3 Ohms +3 Ohms in paralel = 1,5 Ohms.

Sorry about my bad english, I'm just speak in portuguese.

How to equalize extra speakers?

The only thing you can do to equalize those speakers. Make sure that you have them in faze. + to + and - to - and left to left and right to right. Make sure that your speaker can handle the ohms. (the same ohms) for example If your amp is rated to handle 8 ohms then your speakers should have 8 ohms. The speaker wattage should also be abit more than what your amp can produce. Distortion is your worst killer of speakers.

I have a Bose lifestyle 38 and whenever I watch a show with a lot of background sound - ie music in a movie or crowds cheering for sports, it overwhelms the voices of the actors or the sports casters. How...

What makes background sound comes out from Bose lifestyle 38 system is because there is jack cable or a cable that has a jack mouth that brings out a mono sound is being inserted..

Mono cables, when inserted inside a wrong input,it's makes the sound comes out with a background noise just like the one you can hear from it now..it seems as if you are not using the right cable for connection..

To resolve these issue, you will need to use the right cable for connection, by doing these, you will get a clearer sound from you Bose lifestyle 38..

Also it can be from the settings inside the Bose lifestyle 38...So you will need to check both sides to resolve this issue..

You will need to use the manual to know the right cable and the right setting for clear volume..

You can download the user's guide from the below link..

Do I need special speaker wires to hook up bose shelf speakers to my bose lifestyle deck? all I have is regular speaker wire at the moment

It comes with special connectors - not necessarily special wire.

You will need the Lifestyle Cables.

Want to connect non-bose speakers to a bose lifestyle system

this is possible, however not a very good idea.
Bose speakers are designed a little different than other brand speakers, the Equalizer built into the bose system will probably not sound amazing when you hook up your other speakers. Are you looking for more bass? cleaner highs?

if you want more bass, you could try doubling up your subs, if you want cleaner highs you could buy Bose Jewel Cube Speakers (purchased from a Bose Built-Invisible Dealer

Outside bose speakers keep turning off after a few seconds

It sounds like the speakers are either peaking and shutting down or they are dodgy. Check the volume going into the speakers and turn it down see if that works, otherwise take the speakers back. It might be worth trying a different set of speakers as well

I WANT TO SUBSTITUTE 191 SPEAKERS FOR DOUBLE-CUBES WITH MY LIFESTYLE V20 SYSTEM

Yes, there should be no issues at all with just using different speakers. Just connect the 191's as you would the cubes and you should be fine. Please rate my answer, thanks.

Integrated System (Bose Lifestyle) vs Component System

Better is a subjective term. Simpler vs complex is more accurate. I'd go for the separate components if conspicuity is NOT required and to allow unlimited future growth. Sub/sats have their place but nothing beats having full-range speakers alll around the room with some real horsepower to push them.
