Sorry, but on the Acer official website, they only have Windows 7 compatible drivers. This means even if you find any driver that installs on the computer, it will not function to its full capacity.
You should upgrade back to Windows 7.
You need to change the monitor type. If you open the display settings and then setting tab-advanced-monitor you see a properties button. Click that and then the driver tab on the new window. What you need to do is go to Acers website und get the "INF" or driver file for your monitor. download and save this file. Then go back to the drivers window and click the reinstall drivers button and then point it towards the file you downloaded. This file lets windows know what settings the monitor can use. After that is installed and you go back to the settings window you should find that the allowed display resolutions have changed. You should be able to change it to one the monitor displays properly now.
yes. you will need to know what connection you have on your dell video card. the standard is svga. the other is dvi. you may need a convertor or adaptor.
Try plugging in the USB port as well.
Also, your monitor priority settings may need to be configured so that your CPU and GPU card know where to address their data to.
I presume you've installed the monitor's drivers if XP or earlier?
If 7 or later, your Win drivers and INF files should find a compatible driver in the built-in database library.
I don't have an Acer X223W, so my USB tip is based on my AOC wide-screen LCD, which without the USB is semi-intelligent.
I think VGA supplies the RGB video, while USB sets resolution, sync, etc, and digital addressing.
It would seem, somehow, your graphics driver was corrupted. The only thing to do is re-install graphics drivers. These can be found with a quick Google Search: CLICK ME
The first link, to DriversCollection.com, looks promising. This one is for Windows Vista or XP, but you need to specify on the tabs near the top of the page. Make sure you download the correct driver, as this page includes other drivers. You're looking for "Graphics Driver" [Vista] or "Video Driver" [XP].
I think it could be an issue with resolution. Since the monitor is so big, some video cards, I noticed, can't support the high resolutions that the monitor can, if that doesn't work try 16-bit instead of 32-bit.
