Battery will not charge

Question edited for clarity, full make model (what it is).

Did you follow Section 9 about fully charging the battery, pressing and holding the button?

Charging Instructions 1. Plug the charger into the mains - the charger indicator light will be green.
2. Turn on the battery by press and holding the power button until the green light is illuminated.
3. Plug the battery into the charger. The charger light will turn from green to red to indicate the charging process has started.
4. Once the battery is fully charged, the charger status light will be

Acer Aspire 5517 shows BLUE light when fully charged.
Start it and check battery indicator (tray item) will probably say
plugged in fully charged (with adapter plugged in)

Solid green
The battery pack is fully charged.
Slow flashing green
The battery pack is almost fully charged.
Slow flashing yellow
The battery pack is half charged.
Medium flashing yellow
The battery pack is less than half charged.
Fast flashing yellow
The battery pack has almost no charge.
Fast flashing red
A charging error has occurred and the light should be unplugged and then plugged back in. If the Fast Flashing Red persists after several attempts, the battery condition is questionable.

A red flashing indicator light when charging indicates a selftest
error condition. Unplug the product and plug it in again.

that depends on what kind of phone it is. Double check your phone's make and model first.

New batteries are shipped partially charged. Before you start using your device, it is recommended that you charge the battery. Some batteries perform best after several full charge/discharge cycles. You can charge the battery in two ways: • Charging the device’s battery by connecting the power adapter. • Connecting your device to a PC via the provided Mini USB cable. Note: Only the AC adapter and USB cable provided with your device should be used to charge the device. Charging is indicated by a solid amber light on the left LED indicator. As the battery is being charged while the device’s power is on, a charging icon will be shown on the title bar of the Today screen. After the battery has been fully charged, the left LED becomes green and a full battery icon appears on the Today screen’s title bar. Warning! Do not remove the battery from the device while you are charging it using the AC or car adapter. As a safety precaution, the battery stops charging when it overheats. Charge the unit over night, Plug in the AC charger and you should see a lightning bolt over the battery bar graph display.

With the charger plugged in, gently press and hold the on/off power until the screen goes black and displays the text "Charging battery". After a few seconds, the screen will go black to conserve power. At any time, you can press the screen and it will light up saying its still charging.

If you let it go over night, when you touch the screen, it will say Charging Complete and you can then remove the charger. You should have full green bars on the battery indicator.

Well if it's new, then I would take it back to the store from where you bought it. It will be under warranty so, if something is wrong you should be able to get it swapped out with a working one.

if it show fully battery also when u charge your battery it show from the red indicate only tht is not a problem... u need to charge the battery fully ... untill the msg shown as charge complet .. so need not to worry about the Red blinking battery indicator when you plug in charger.
