Emachine T2672 will not recognize monitor

First, check to see if the computer is actually running--look for the lights on the front and listen for the fan (also, put your hand behind the machine to see if you feel air coming out). Once you determine that the computer is actually running, look at the monitor. Is it on? Is there a green or yellow light? If not, be absolutely sure it's plugged in both to the monitor and to the computer and the power source.
If you have a yellow light and the computer is running, it might be the video card. If there is not yellow or green light, the monitor is bad.
Find a friend who has a monitor and borrow it. Plug it into your system and see if it works. If so, the problem is your monitor. If not, then the problem lies in the computer.

Monitor on emachines computer is black and the on/off light flickers screen will not come on

First make sure the power cord is plugged in both ends (in the wall and in the monitor).
When the computer is turned on, it should run a power on-self test and then beep. The monitor light should be green and then the Windows splash screen will display. If your computer starts up but the video fails, then the monitor light will turn yellow.
A monitor light that just flickers and goes off is probably an indication that the monitor has failed.
I usually try to hook up another monitor (borrow it from a friend) just to be sure that the computer is working.

Emachine Will not boot

different beeping patterns are codes which indicate what part of the hardware has failed (ram, video card, cpu, ect). the fan failure would not cause beeps, and would not cause the cpu to fail unless already in windows. if you could find out the manufacturer of your motherboard you could check with them about what the paticular pattern of beeps which you are getting mean.

Emachine w2686 no display when boot up

Couple things to check. First, check with different monitor. Their monitors are usually build by KDS and I think there was a bad series out there. Also check for any beep codes through speakers on startup, this can tell you bad ram or bad video out. Also try unplugging computer and removing CMOS battery inside (watch like battery). Lastly, If non of the above, a bad processor will allow the computer to come on but no beep, no boot, no nothing but fans and green power light. Hope this helps a little.....

The crazy blue box

Emachines 1900+ gets power to the monitor and computer but wont boot

There could be a number of causes. Do you hear any beeps when the computer starts up? Try seating all the chips in the motherboard. That means, apply pressure to each individual chip on the motherboard with your finger or thumb. The goal is to make sure each chip is securely attached to the board. Sometimes, heat or new h/w installs partially "pop" some of the chips out of the motherboard - causing the circuitry to be disconnected...
