My camera just have one week of being purchased, yesterday i was taking photos and suddenly this message appeared and i did not find anything in the manual

These cameras are easily broken by dropping them. Try to free it by hitting it easy at first, not too hard, you don't want more damage to it? Option number two is to take it to a camera shop for repair estimate. They will try what I'm telling you and chage you a lot if it works.

Go to the menus and find the set to default option.
This should reset the menus and options to original.
Go to the menu section find a setting something like this... such as.. reset all to default or set to factory default or simply RESET.
Check to see if the pictures are saved to the card by taking a picture, then remove the card and play it back in either another camera or use a card reader to read the card.
If these tests shows that no picture was taken or it is all white, then the camera needs repair or has a ccd problem.
Another option is to call Canon Repair at the following page and use the 800 number for calling the repair department.

I had this problem too, I think it's the shutter problem, it doesn't close
when a picture is taken, therefore, causing the over exposed photo...I've sent it back to canon, still waiting for the reply...

Hi,
This error occured when lens is prevented from properly extending or retracting.when pressure is applied to the lens or the area surrounding the lens while handling the camera. The error may also be displayed due External shock or liquid, sand & dirt etc. enters the camera.
Avoid applying pressure to the lens and surrounding area:
1) Do not touch Lens while shooting.
2) Make sure the camera is off before the camera is placed back in the case.
If you cannot clear the error code by turning the camera OFF and then ON again then your device need to be repaired.

how can i restart the camera? where is the restart button? HELP!!
When i turn my camera on it beeps 6 times then displays the message Lens error, "restart camera"
When Iswitch the camera on the canon display apears in blue then the screen goes black with the message Lens error,Restart camera.
Then it switches off on its own with the lens still out and the shutter open.
i have same problem on this camera...help me..how i can get restart button???
