I can't turn my Kenmore upright freezer on.

Mod. #253.26072100 Kenmore Deluxe Upright Freezer. I accidentally turned it off. I cannot get it back on. I have the Quick freeze, temp up and down, and alarm reset temp control panel. Nothing in the manuals works. I push the temp down button but nothing happens. I push the temp up button I get a random beep once in awhile. I push the alarm reset button and if i hold it long enough it goes to lock and unlock. What am I missing?

Try disconnecting power for about 30 seconds, and then restore power. This will reboot the control and maybe restart.

Control is bad and needs to be replaced. I cannot see your repyl due to some tech issue w/ the site, so it may be a day or so before I can reply again. Please leave feedback for me if appropriate. Thanks

SOURCE: Freezer compressor runs steady & getting -30F

You probably have a defective thermostat or sensor for reading the temperature.

SOURCE: Freezer alarm stuck on - can't reset

Hi: Does the freezer have a battery backup for the electronics? A 9v. battery in the grill down below. You won't have to remove the grill but pull a small rectangular panel to expose the battery. High end Kenmore freezers have a battery to back up the alarm. The six you see is actually supposed to be a "b" for battery most likely. L.E.D.'s are tough to tell the difference. Buy an new battery and all will be well. I hope this helps, Jeff

I accidently turned off freezer. How do i turn it back on?

Turn the interior temperature control back on by setting at approx halfway between "off" and "coldest". (Make certain the branch circuit is hot - you should hear the compressor turn on when you set the control, possible an interior light will come on as well).

If the freezer does not run, check to see if you accidiently pulled the flash defrost plnger (if equipped). (See age 8 in your manual).

Loud clanging noise from Kenmore upright freezer

Check the condenser fan (outside at the rear) and check the coil isn't baking hot. Electronics or board wouldn't cause your symptoms. Check the simple things first!

Won't freeze

Is the compressor running the whole time? If so may have a problem with a refridgerant leak....check the compressor in the rear of unit, feel if its hot....may be as simple as a relay.
