Hooking up 2 speakers to 1 speakon output

My problem is I own a crown 402 amp it has one speakon output. I was wondering how to hook up 2 speakers with 1 speakon output? do you just run a 1/4 cable from 1 speaker to the other and 1 speakon from the amp to 1 speaker?

I have a pair of JBL pro G730 & Crown XLS 602 amplifier. Can someone guide me how to connect these and the position of the switches as there are no labels on them. Thanks .

In the USA, JBL G730 cabinets come with 1/4" connectors instead of Speakons normally. Either way, the switch on the rear of the cabinet on the crossover is a pad for the horn which lowers it's output. Normal is the middle position, upper the horn is louder, lower the horn is softer

Want to wire a female speakon connector in a plate with 1/4 connector on other end to plug into a rack mounted amp. Plugging onto speaker.

Just so I understand what you are trying to do; you have a power amp that has 1/4" phone output and want to make up a cable of x length to plug into a SpeakOn(c) connector on a speaker. Correct?

How to connect mixer to a crown power base 2 amp and speakers

just use the main left and right outputs of the behringer to run xlr (3 prong balanced) to 1/4 inch (looks like a big headphone plug) cables into the inputs of the crown amp. the mixer has the xlr outputs and the amp has 1/4 inch inputrs, sop the cables will have to reflect that on both ends. run the outputs of the amp (rca outputs, i believe, you may have to get a rca plug to 1/4 inch jack adapter, and then use a 1/4 inch speaker cable) to the inputs of the speakers, again, the amp has rca outputs and the speakers will likely have 1/4 inputs, so you will have to address that wil an adapter. have each speaker in its own channel.

I feel like a dork asking this question but how do you connect the amplifier to your mixer. I see that there are places for a banna plug however my mixer will not take a 1/4 banna plug.

In case you don't have one, here is a link to the manual:http://www.peavey.com/assets/literature/manuals/80300573.pdf I don't know if you are using a separate crossover between the mixer and the amp but here is the simplest explanation.I just reread your question and I don't even know whether you have a Peavey amp. Run proper cables from the main output of your mixer to the main inputs of your power amp. They will be 1/4"shielded cables or Balanced XLR cables. Do not use unshielded speaker cables to hook the mixer and the amp together.Run speaker cables from the speaker outputs of the amp to the input jacks of your speakers.Make sure the impedance of your speaker cabinets equals or exceeds the impedance rating marked on your amp. Here is the link to the newer model PV2600 manual:http://www.sweetwater.com/store/media/pv2600_doc_manual.pdf Don't use Speakon cables unless your speaker cabinets are equipped with Speakon input jacks. Banana plugs aren't as solid a connection as the binding posts are.

Can I hook up 2 separate power amps to PMP3000? I

Better way... Connect the main speakers via the Speakons and then put a Power Subwoofer to one of the Monitor connections IF you are not using both stage monitors. If you need to kill the lows to the mains, use the EQ in the PMP-3000.

Use the EQ that is USUALLY on the subwoofer to kill the highs to the sub.

Lot less cables and hardware.

REMEMBER for equipment safety, power ALL interconnected equipment from the same source be it a receptacle or power distribution system.

Powering parts of a system from receptacles strewn around a room is asking for trouble of ground loops and ground faults.

I have two type-rs hooked up to a mrp-m1000 and its not hitting hard at all! but when one is hooked up it hits harder than two... so is it the way its hooked up or do i need another mrp-m1000 amp? or can i...

If the speakers are rated at 500W or greater, then you'll need two amps to get their full potential. When you connect two to a single 500W amp, each speaker only gets a max of 250W. Also, check the ohm rating for the outputs of the amp and the ohm rating of the speakers as well. Unmatches speaker/amp impendence also results in poor performance. If you connect two speakers to one terminal, the total impedence of the speakers falls by 1/2 (two 4 ohm speakers wire together will result in 2 ohm impedence). So, if you have an amp rated at 4 ohms, you could connect two 8 ohm speakers to a single output. Hope this helps some!

Crown Amp Possibly Blown??

Hi, probably worth fixing, Crown gear is generally reliable, but this one has failed for some reason. Puffs of smoke are not generally good... If it has blown an output array, expect a costly repair.
