Amana Convection Oven AOCS3040 fan stops working

Sometimes the oven fan will stop working once the oven has been turned on "convection". Other times the fan will not turn on at all. My husband replaced the fan thinking it was the problem, but it apparently was not.I have been searching for instruction for the control panel wires to see if there is a possible short in the panel. I cannot find any information on which wires in the panels control the features of the oven. Any suggestions?

There is a blower on the top of the oven, which turns on when the oven is hot enough. If the warm/hot air is coming out from top vent corners - this is the blower working. Even if you turn the oven off at that moment, the blower will still work until the oven cools down. This is normal.

Sounds like the element shorted out. I recommend having someone look at it or go out and buy a new oven. Either way you will have to spend some money to get someone to get your oven repaired/replaced.

No heat on convection or self clean

If you have been using the self clean feature, you have probably burned out or damaged the connections to the fan and the convection fan element or thermistor. NEVER EVER use the self clean feature.

When trying to thermal/radiant bake, convection fan at the rear does not stop turning after the preheat. Why doesn't this happen? Isn't it then convection baking?

Most wall ovens have a cooling fan that comes on when the oven has been on for some time. It is separate from the convection operation. It should shut off after the oven has been off for a time.

Amana Convection oven not controlling temp

I have just checked the baking guide in the manual and have found that it may not be us after all. (Maybe this is why they telll us to read the whole manual. Well, I never have) According to the cooking time for Baking, the range is very extensive. For example, an angel cake at 350 could take from 28-50 minutes, buscuits at 375-400 could take 8-16 minutes, layer cakes at 350-375 could take 25-40 minutes, pound cakes at 325-350 could take 45-70 minutes and fresh pies at 400-450 could take 35-60 minutes. Basically, the baking directions on the box means absolutely nothing to use Amana oven owners. We have no choice but to cook our food or baked goods until they are cooked, whenever that may be. :) Linda
