Spin Basket Spins Along with Agitatdor in GE Profile Washing Mach

There is a GE Profile Washing Machine that recently has problem with the Spin Basket Spinning in circles at the same speed along with the Agitator, this seems to effectively canceling out the washing effectiveness of the GE Washing Machine.

Even when the machine is fully powered off and not in use the Spin Basket can now be easily spun in full 360 circles by hand; it used to be locked in position like the wheel of a car when in park and could not be spun around ..

What could cause this and is there an easy fix ?

This is a GE Model WPSQ312OT/WPXQ3090T is this considered one of the "newer" version that would have the 4 flashes you mentioned?

If washer is newer version remove front panel and ck if has a gearcase it's probably bad if it has what ge calls a mode shifter it's probably bad it has a coil with connection to motor bd..look on bd for flashing green 4 flashes means open mode shifter coil

remove console screws look for tech sheet it will probably be more helpful but ge still uses a gearcase while some of the higher end models use the shifter

I have a GE Profile Prodigy top load washing machine. Sometimes the spin cycle does not spin, sometimes it spins. It makes a clicking noise during gentle cycle

The gears maybe going out. Sometimes it is able to engage in the other direction which the spin, sometimes not. Washing machine have complex gears that in one way agitator works, and the other the gear locks to turn the whole tub. The clicking noise is probably the locking mechanism in the gears that has caused the whole intermittent problem.

Basket won't spin

Unplug machine for two minutes, plug back in and open and close lid 7 times slowly. This should reset electronic motor.

Agitator problem

Check to see if any thing is under the agitator. If not then maybe the bearings going out or other part of machine . Besure the cap is tighten so agatator don't come off. Check for ware on agatator top to the tighting nut.

Washing machine spins slowly and smells of burning rubber

The belt could be worn and will be slipping on the pullys, as it spins up the rubber , rubs against the pullys and that is what creats the burning rubber smell, the belt needs replacing.

GE profile washing machine won't agitate it spins out, drains,

Pull the agitator out and check the drive collar splines.If you have the model I think you have just pull straight up on the agitator. Once removed you will see the drive collar with a 7/16 head bolt,remove it and pull off the collar.First before pulling it off spin it if splines are stripped it will spin freely.
