While power lift recliners with heat and massage have amazing features, they are also very practical and are designed to be enjoyed by every member of the family including the elderly.
The power lift silent motor they come equipped with makes reclining seating and standing such a breeze that even to those who are recovering at home from a surgery or the elderly find these seats to be some of the most ideal for comfort.
JC Penny has some smaller framed recliners I really liked.. and also ask furniture stores for a "wall saver" recliner.. That's the type that can be right up against a wall, and recline without hitting it..
Binson's is a medical supply place, but they also carry recliners in all sizes, and there power recliners.. :) .. I was pretty impressed at the selection..
I have the same problem, but handicap and have a power wheel chair which also takes up even more room once seated in the recliner... Although I loved some of the furniture at these places.! I cannot afford them and medicare/medicaid wont pay for even a lift chair..:(
There are three types of recliners you can look for: recliners with legs, European recliners and
compact recliners. I have found you a
site with a few of these options to browse through. I hope something will fit your space. http://www.wayfair.com/Recliners-C413904.html?refid=ss222500
