do you happen to have the manual for the system... it may have a pre-installed access code until a new one is set.

SOURCE: nec dterm80 light flashing green

For the green light, you can turn it off from DSS. On the bottom left hand side of DSS, it is a message button. You can press the button and then your extension button. The green light will go away from the DSS and on your phone. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: How do you play the radio through the NEC Dterm80 Phone System

The NEC phone system needs to have a radio attached to distribute the music to the phone sets.
It is not illegal to play the radio through a phone system (radio advertizements pay for it)

This is a Dterm 80 phone set

BACKGROUND MUSIC
To turn Background Music on or off:
1. Press the Speaker key.
2. Dial 725.
3. Press Speaker to hang up.

How do I take off do not disturb

If you have a DTP-16D phone, I believe that device was used primarily on the NEAX 2000 system by NEC. If that is true, you can try the default DND cancel code: #8 (*8 sets it). Unfortunately, the system codes CAN be changed by the installer, so it could be something else. Please let us know if that works. Thanks.

How to disable do not disturb on NEC Dterm80 phone?

Have a coworker call your extension to see if DND is on, they will go straight to voicemail or get a fast busy. Speaker 42 may be the default cancel DND code, depending on your system and whether the codes were changed. Anyway, ringing is set up in system programming. If someone calls your extension it will likely ring, but outside calls have to be assigned to ring in system programming. Usually need a tech to do the programming since it gets complicated very quickly.

I have a NEC Dterm80 I need to program a button on the phone to be my handset button so I may be able to use my handset. I dont what to have to call a DeltaCom tech in to program.

First and foremost we need to know what system you have. Then we can proceed with how to program the button.

NEC Elite 48, 192, IPK 1

First pick the button you want to program. Lets say button 13 in this example. Next check to see if that button is programmed by pressing Feature and that key. If that key says Vacant then it is available for use.

Next you will need to hit "Feature and 4" on that station to find the port #. Port # is Tel 10 for example. That means port 10 is where your extension resides.

Now type in "Feature, #, 0 *, 8974". The phone should say Program Mode. Now look at the Line Keys. These are the keys right above the # pad. Count from left to right 4 keys. Hit Line Key 4 and then type 12 on the dial pad.

Now that we are in key programming we need to enter the port of your phone. Make sure the blinking cursor is on the far left. If not press * to move to the left. Now enter 10 (port 10 or Tel 10) on the dial pad. The cursor should be right near the L. If not then press # to move to that position on the right. Remember * will bring you back to the left and # to the right.

This is where you are to enter the key #. In our example it is key 13. Dial 13 on the dial pad. Next we are going to change the key to a headset key by pressing "Recall, Line key 3". It should say H Set on the right. Now that you have the proper key set you need to hit transfer to write the programming. Remember to try and find a key that is not programmed, this will ensure that you don't undo any programming that is already in place.

Any other system other than the NEC 48, 192 or IPK 1 will not work.

I have a NEC ETW 16DC-2 phone that does not ring with calls

The telephone instrument you have can be used on the NEC Electra Professional Level I, and the Level II systems (and under some conditions the NEAX 2000 series). Codes for features are somewhat different based on the system. It is possible that your phone is in "Do-Not-Disturb" if other phones on your system actually ring when they are called via the intercom (on the Level I and Level II systems, initial intercom ring is a system wide setting). The cancel DND code is: Level I system: with telephone idle, press <FNC>, dial 60, press <FNC>. Level II system: with telephone idle, press <FNC>, dial 69, press <FNC>.
It is also possible that your ring volume is very low. To adjust, press <SPKR>, dial 601, then adjust volume using the up/down keys at the bottom of the phone (press <SPKR> when finished. If your system is programmed to access an outside line when you press <SPKR>, you will need to press the <INTERCOM> button first.)
If your system is set for voice intercom, people calling your phone can make it ring by dialing a "1" after your intercom number.
If you do all this and your phone still won't ring on incoming calls, let me know and we'll have to go into system programming to correct it.

NEC DTerm80 phone

I have the 8 button phone and if you hook up your headset the right way you just have to press the line/feature access key all the way to the right instead of picking up the receiver. Keep the headset on all the time and just press that button to answer or hang up the calls. It works great! ( I have the Dterm80 telephone)
