Paper Mis-Feeding My printer has started to mis-feed paper. When I press print, the paper is picked up by the feeder and then one side (the right when looking at the printer) pulls and ultimately crumples the paper resulting in a jam. Is the feeding mechanism shoot or is there a re-aligning solution? Thanks!

I tried this solution and it still crumples the paper and the wheels are turning well and there is no paper piece caught in the machine. Any other suggestions?

Check for any pieces of torn paper in the path, especially on the left side. You can also reach into the slot that the paper feeds into and feel each of the rollers behind the plastic cover; they all should turn freely, pay special attention to the wheel to the left.

Printer will not pull envelope into print area - worked fine in the past and still no problem with 8½ X 11 paper.

Problem feeding thick paper. Replace paper feeder. Or, add double tape bellow pick up rubbers at paper feeder. Check lubrication too.

EPSON 1280 SILVER INK JET PRINTER, Stopped printing on glossy

Problem with paper feeder. Replace paper feeder or replace just pick up rubber at paper feeder mechanics. You can add thickness of rubber by adding black double tape (flexible) (about 1mm).

Printer says "printer mispik. [enter] to resume. so i press enter and it says the same thing.

Mis-pick means it didn't pick up a sheet of paper, you may need to clean the paper feed roller in the back above where you load paper for printing.

Paper pulls to the right, jams, won't print, tried different paper still won't print

Hi,
Sounds like the feed rollers need cleaning.
Clean the feed rollers, lint free cloth, bottled water.
wait for them to properly dry

Revolve the feed roller bar as you clean them, to clean the feed rollers all the way round, remove all particles from them.

Check you ADF grips are set correctly, if not you will get mis-fed sheets. check the tray is sat properly too or mis-feeds.

Check paper size is correct in print properties too.
Should be good then
Try print.

Regards
Richard.

Mis-feeds paper and thinks it has paper jam

the gears of the printer r worn out and they have hanve lost their allignment settings so this problem.either replace the gears.or the other solution.do not insert the paper in the tray ,keep it little bit outside and hold the end of the paper in hand when you will give a printout the printer will make a noise of picking the paper at that time just push the paper inside and then it will print properly.

Paper jam error after last page prints

Hi Natoli3,
This could be a mis-match of paper sizes. Example, computer could be sending an A4 page to the printer. The paper size in the could be set to Letter. Ensure the 4 paper sizes match, in the computer - the document and printer driver; in the printer (change in control panel) and paper tray (adjust the physical side and length).

Paper is feeding unevenly on black & white prints

If the paper is lodged too far into the printer and can't be removed:
  1. Press the power button to turn the printer off.
  2. Pull firmly on the paper to remove it. If you can't reach the paper because it is too far in, raise the front cover and remove the paper from the front of the printer.
  3. Close the front cover.
  4. Press the power button to turn the printer back on.
  5. Resend your document to print.
Ensure that:
  • The paper is a recommended paper for inkjet printers.
  • You do not force the paper down into the printer when you load it. For example, if you are loading letter or A4 size paper, the top edge of the paper should extend above the top of the sheet feeder.
  • The printer is on a flat, level surface.
  • The left paper guide is against the side of the paper.
  • You do not load too much paper in the sheet feeder. Depending on the thickness of your paper, the sheet feeder can hold up to 100 sheets of paper.
  • The left paper guide does not cause the paper to bend in the sheet feeder.
  • Your printer feeds regular paper as expected. If regular paper feeds without causing problems, load the envelopes vertically against the right side of the sheet feeder. Make sure the paper guide is against the side of the envelopes.
  • Envelopes or the appropriate specialty papers are selected in the printer driver.
  • You are using a paper or envelope size supported by your printer.
Important: Your application may not be designed to print envelopes. For help, consult the documentation that accompanied your application.
