It's going to be the sensor or the circuit board. Make sure the sensor is clear (use a vacuum cleaner with a crevice attachment blowing air should be very limited, because staples blown onto the circuit boards WILL fry them).
If the sensor is clear, then the sensor is probably unplugged; they don't go bad very often. If you don't feel comfortable taking it apart to check it out, call a tech. If you do take it apart, make sure the sensor and all cables are plugged in. If they are, you have a bad circuit board. For Canon Scanner Repair in Dallas, Texas :call Scan-R-Store

Error P00

A few easy things to try. First off, have you power cycled the unit since checking for a paper jam? Often that will clear false errors. If not, look for the sensors. They should be somewhere along the paper path, and consist of a plastic lever that will be pushed down as the paper moves past them. Usually these levers have springs attached - if the spring comes off, it will register a paper jam. You'll probably have to take off some of the housing to get to them. I'm not sure this will help much, but since I found it I'll post it. The user's manual: http://edocutek.com/Manuals/DR6080_9080C_UG.pdf If the sensor needs replaced (most often due to something simple like a piece of plastic breaking on it), you can order new sensor PCB assemblies (sensor and its small control board) here: http://www.precisionroller.com/manufacturers/canon-dr6080.html They also sell a parts manual, but it's a bit pricey.

I have a canon dr-7580 with a P00 error. I've blown it out but no paper found. what next

Use Qumatool to check if all the sensors are working okay. Normally sensors dont fail, there must be a small piece of paper (like the 'dot' of pre-printed stationery) sticking somewhere.

How to get rectify poo error

P00 not (poo) is paper already present inside the scanner, when it is trying to initialise. Open the cover, remove all shreds of paper inside the scanner and if required gently blow with a blower to clean the dust.

CANNON SCANNER 7580...ERROR P00

Canon error numbers are logical! Error starting with 'P' is paper related. If there is already soem paper inside the scanner while inititalising, u will get this error. Check for shreds of paper in the paper path. (Error starting with 'C' is Cover and 'E' isn Engineer reqd)

Hi have a p00 error on a canon 7580 scanner does anyone know what this is?

The P00 is a paper jam code .

Check if there is any small bit of paper stuck in any of the sensors. Remove the rubber rollers, clean and refit them.

Hope this helps you.

to check the page count install the driver and setup the scanner as a "scanner device" on your computer. Once you have done that , go to the "control panel" than "scanners and printers". Right-click on the device that says "Cannon DR-9080C" and select "properties". The device information will appear, than select the "counter" tab on the information box; the scan count will be listed.
