My gateway computer screen looks like a book closing. Can't restore bc the date won't go back. How do I fix this?

Does it look OK if you plug it into a monitor? If so it's a hardware issue with your screen. I haven't seen what you're describing before. Also,do you mean there is no restore date in backup and restore? If so you have no restore points to work from. If you have the disks you can restore from them. Save your data somewhere first. You can call gateway and they should be able to walk you through a system restore from the hard disk. Again save your data to something external? You can usually buy factory restore disks from the manufacturer for about $50 also

I have an iphone 5. it doesn't start up as i switched it during during the installation of a new software upgrade. now i can only connect it to itunes and reset it to factory setting losing al

Use iTunes
You can use iTunes to back up and restore your content on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Note that iTunes and iOS do not support installing backups of newer versions of iOS onto devices using earlier versions of iOS.
Back up
To back up the content on your iOS device, follow these steps:
Make sure your computer has the latest version of iTunes.
Connect your iOS device to your computer.
Choose File > Devices > Back up.
If you're using iTunes 10.7 or earlier, right-click the device from the list and choose Backup Now.
You can also back up by syncing your iOS device with your computer. When you use iTunes to sync, backing up is the first step.
To verify that the backup finished successfully, open iTunes Preferences and select the Devices tab. You'll see the name of the device along with the date and time iTunes created the backup.
Your backup in Devices Preferences

Restore from a backup
If you have a new iOS device, or if you need to restore your device to resolve an issue, follow these steps:
Connect your iOS device to the computer that has your backup.
Make sure this computer has the latest version of iTunes.
Choose File > Devices > Restore from Back up.
If you're using iTunes 10.7 or earlier, right-click the device from the list and choose Restore from Backup.

Factory reset

Do not rename the backup folder created by Samsung Recovery Solution or change the directory structure in the backup. If the name or structure has changed SRS will not see your recovery point when you attempt to perform a restore.

This restores the PC to the condition it was in when the Complete Backup was made. If a Complete Backup was never made, this can still be used to restore the PC to its initial status. (Out of the Box condition)

Warning: A Complete restore erases all current files, settings, programs and other data and replaces them with the files, settings, programs and other data contained in the Complete Backup. In other words, it restores your computer to the way it was when you made the Complete Backup. Also, note that any programs installed after the Complete Backup will still need to be reinstalled.

Important:

  • If you have data that you need to save, create a Data Backup before performing a Complete Restore. With Data Backup you can save your files to an external device and then use Data Restore to load those files back onto the PC.
  • If the computer powers on, but Windows does not load, press the F4 Key at the Samsung logo when you first power on the computer; and then go to step 2.
  • If the Samsung Recovery partition has been removed from your PC, your notebook will need to be sent to the service center for reimaging.

To perform a Complete Restore, follow these steps:

  1. Open Samsung Recovery Solution 5.
  2. main_screen_cropped.jpg

  1. Once Samsung Recovery Solution 5 loads, click Restore. The Restore dialog appears.
  2. Click Complete Restore. The Restore > Complete Restore dialog appears.
  3. restore_main.jpg

  1. On the Restore > Complete Restore dialog, there is list of backups created using Complete Backup and the expected time needed to perform a restore with each backup. If no backups have been created then the Computer Initial Status backup is the only item listed. Click the backup you would like to use for this restore, and then click Next.
  2. Important: Make sure you have power connected to the PC. If power is lost during a restore, you need to start the process again from the beginning.

    select.jpg

  1. Samsung Recovery Solution 5 prompts you to restart the computer to continue. Click OK to restart the computer.
  2. Warning: If you have data on drive C that you do not want to lose, stop now and perform a Data Backup.

    restart.jpg

  1. The computer restarts and Samsung Recovery Solution 5 prompts you to click Yes to Delete all data on drive C. Click yes to proceed.
  2. A progress bar appears showing the current transfer speed, the amount of data copied, elapsed time and estimated total time to completion.
  3. After the Complete Restore is complete, Samsung Recovery Solution 5 prompts you to restart your computer. Click OK to restart.
  4. After you restart your computer, the restore process is complete.
  5. Note: You will need to perform an additional restart for Windows to apply its changes.

How to factory rest

  • Take account of any files or programs you still want to use after the Toshiba laptop is restored back to its factory settings. Transfer the files to a backup location, such as a USB flash drive or external hard drive.
  • Restart the Toshiba Satellite laptop's operating system. Wait for the Toshiba logo to appear on the screen.
  • Press the key that brings up the hard drive disk utility menu. Depending on the specific model of your Toshiba Satellite laptop, the key will either be "0," "F1," or "F8."
  • Press "1" or click "Restore Original Factory Image." Click "Yes." Select "Next" to begin the restoration process.
  • Restart the Toshiba laptop computer when the restoration process finishes running. Follow the prompts that appear on the screen to set up the laptop's date, time and language settings.
  • Transfer the backup copies of the data you saved earlier back to the Toshiba's hard drive. Re-install any programs you need, such as your software firewall or anti-virus tool.
The hard disk drive restore utility is saved on a separate partition on the Toshiba laptop's hard drive. If that partition has been formatted you won't be able to use the restore utility. If you don't have the operating system recovery disc and the partition has been formatted, you will need to contact Toshiba's customer support to have them send you a new disc.

All of your existing data will be permanently removed from the hard drive when the factory restore process has finished running.

I'm tryin to restore computer to factory

If you have saved a recovery disk of your computer during first use, you may use that to go back to those settings. Otherwise you may have to format your computer. If you have XP or vista you are limited to the dates where the recovery/backup took place. Otherwise you may need to save you files and re-install the OS.

Unable to retrieve company file after closing it

You probably opened an old file. You will need to find the current file that you were using. Use the search and search for all files ending in .QBW
Check the dates they were last used (you don't want the one with the most current date since that was the old file that was opened.)
