My NAD 5100 monitor series CD player recently decided it didn't like ejecting CDs (maybe it just likes weather report)
anyways I'm tired of listing to music through my Ipod and would like to get the CD player working again.
when I push the eject button the door seems to move a fraction of an inch and a horrible griding type noise emits form the machine. seems like a mechanical problem with the door, as the current CD still plays fine.
recommendations? can I fix it myself? should i just take it somewhere?
Hi ntravers9
You could fix this yourself, in saying this of course, you will need to also source a new belt for the player ( I can help you there too) That is probably what is preventing the Cd tray from opening. If you where to remove the lid, and give the transport a little assistance in the direction that things initially start moving, then you can be sure that the mechanism is not damaged in any way, and that a lazy belt is the source of you problem.
Do this if you are into fixing it yourself, to see for sure what is happening and we can go from there.
