SOURCE: "CD" ERROR ON LG WM-3677HW Front Load All-in-One Washer / Dryer

CD means cool down, press the pause start button, the door lock will open. It is an anti crease cycle. It mentions it in the owners manual, but it is hidden deep in the drying section.

SOURCE: My LG WM3431H All-In-One Washer and Dryer won't dry

Thanks to CoolTech for pointing me in the right direction, I just finished a full clean out and diagnostics test and my dryer works once again.

This repair isn't rocket science nor is it a good idea for the mechanically timid. I managed to get the critical parts out for cleaning and back in properly with just a phillips head screwdriver and a pair of pliers for the spring type hose clamps so it's not a matter of custom tools.

You have dig pretty deep and remove an awful lot of cabinet parts, fans, heater assemblies and something like 30 or 40 various screws to get to the condensor duct and bellows to clean them. Sure enough my condensor duct was jam packed with lint. Once removed I was able to clean it with a creatively bent coat hanger, but a semi flexible bottle brush/pipe cleaner about 18 inches long and an inch or so brush diameter would be a better tool.

If you want to tackle this job, and again it sounds daunting but isn't to someone with reasonable mechanical skills you should do yourself a favor and buy a copy of the factory service manual. I got mine on line from these guys: http://www.manualuniverse.com/ but there are probably other sources including LG if you search by the model number.

In addition to some less than obvious disassembly instructions the manual tells you how to trigger the self test mode and how to interpret the results, gives you good information on cold state resistance tests you can do on relays, heater elements, sensors, etc. and provides a good troubleshooting guide for a variety of problems.

All in all the job took me about an hour and a half and was pretty straightforward except for the last mounting screw for the condensor duct which is hard to get to and requires some effort to remove and replace but again I did the whole job with a standard medium sized screwdriver so it's not impossible.

Good luck and if you're having this problem and like me you don't have any local repair folks who'll touch it (not many of these all in ones in Wyoming) then I'd get your hands on the manual and dig into it. It's not fun, but not too hard either.

SOURCE: Washer-dryer # wm3677HW will not dry, heats up, run, on and on

You're a moron. This unit washes and dries. That's the whole point of it. Perhaps you should do some research before answering the question. the most likely cause is the water lever sensor.

SOURCE: LG Senseclean washer dryer combo won't dry

The problem is likely due to lint build up in the condensing unit. I found a solution here:
http://www.motusconnect.com/blog/2009/1/5/lg-washer-dryer-drama-%E2%80%93-diy-fix

I also had a softball size ball of wet, packed lint in the condensing unit. I found that the unit can be cleaned without tools or dis-assembly by:

  1. draining the water.
  2. laying the washer on it's back.
  3. removing the hose clamp on the rubber bellows that connects the drum to the condensing unit (right hand side of machine).
  4. digging the lint wads out with your fingers and a small screwdriver.
Happy drying!

I have a aeg washer/dryer- it washes fine but then I have problems drying Any idea how I can solve this? problem

Please start with your clothes after the washer finishes it's washing cycle.
Take them out and see how dry they are.
They should be nearly dry.
If not, perhaps the reason you are having problems is they are too wet to begin with for the dryer to properly do it's job..
This is not a rare problem.
One possible reason for the clothes not to be dry when the washer finishes is a loose or worn out belt under the washer.
Another problem some washers have, particularly washer/dryer combos, is that they are sometimes not very effective.
In that case, either smaller loads or rerunning the spin cycle at the end of the washing cycle might help you.
God bless your efforts.

How do i do drying only

From the document I see, it is only a matter of pressing the "Dry" button. This is from the manual, available at http://www.lg.com/us/appliances/washer-dryer-combos/LG-WM3431HW.jsp and selecting the "Support" tab. On the right, there will be a "Washer/Dryer Combos Manual" link, which will download to your computer. Listed under "Dry" in Section 9 is the following.
• Drying options are easily selected with the Dry button. • For most even drying , make sure all articles in the clothes load are similar in material and thickness. • Do not overload dryer by stuffing too many articles into drum. Items must be able to tumble freely • If you open door and remove load before dryer has finished its cycle, remember to press the Start/Pause button. • By pressing the Dry button, you can select "Normal" - "More" - "Time" - "Off" - "Low Temp" - "Less" • Your dryer can handle a load of up to 9 lbs. (4 kg) dry weight of articles. • When drying cycle is completed, [Cd] (Cool Down) is displayed on the Multi display. • Cool Down is set automatically when the drying cycle is complete. • If clothes are not removed promptly when the drying cycle ends, wrinkles can form. • The Cool Down feature periodically tumbles, rearranges and fluffs the load to avoid wrinkles for up to 4 hours. • The message [Cd] will continue to display until the clothes are removed or the Start/Pause button is pressed
Hope this solves your problem. I highly recommend downloading the users manual, it is a wealth of information and will prove useful in many circumstances.

I am having 2 issues. Most importantly, my front load washer/dryer is skipping drying time. I typically wash the clothes then put dryer sheets in and use the dry only on low heat option. It starts...

Your two issues may be related. A combo washer / dryer uses a fine spray of cool water to condense moisture out of the air stream while drying. This water is then pumped down the drain. Cold water is also used to fill the softner dispenser. If the inlet screen on the cold water connection to the machine is restricted, those are two of several things which could show up. Turn cold water valve supplying water to machine off. Unscrew cold water fill hose from machine. Remove screen from inside machine, clean, re-install, re-attach cold water fill hose, turn cold water valve back on and see if performace improved.

I just had the LG WM3987HW washer/dryer combo installed on Saturday, and it will not dry our clothes. This machine is ventless and dries by dehumidification. The clothes are more dry at the end of the spin...

I also have this unit with the same problems. After lamenting on making a poor purchase decision, I found somewhat of a solution. Basically, water is not being expelled during the dry cycle. When I addressed this issue, clothes were MUCH more dry than before. Made a quick video demonstrating the fix: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EhzuzSk2Ok

Stackable washer and dryer. The dry shakes when the washer is on spin cycle.

The washer spins real fast and can shake like he**. The load can also be unbalanced.

Prolem drying clothes

I just contacted Samsung Tech Support for my wash/dryer combo WD-J1255C.
The reply.."it is not a full dryer ...and it is not sold as a full drier.. and don't expect it to be completely dry". I queried why it is advertised as a dryer and got the same reply.
Its a great washer but why did I pay extra for the dryer combo?
