Unfortunately this board has no audio support for Windows Vista, my suggestion is to visit a website like www.newegg.com and purchase a PCI sound card that does support Vista so you can install it yourself.

1. you will have to use the "compatibility mode" to get the sound card to work that is if it worked in Windows XP it will have to be set up in Windows XP
Here is the knowledge base article for follow:

2. copy/paste into the url
3. sometime the drivers for you sound card are not compatible for the new Operating system (Vista) and will need an update or you will have to purchase a new sound card that is compatible.

Replace the Vista Home Premium with XP on ASPIRE M1202

Your best option is to upgrade to Windows 7. It is free for (I believe all) Vista users, and you can run programs in XP compatibility mode.

Downgrade Acer M1641 from Vista home premium to Windows XP

Its a driver incompatibility issue. Many hardware components designed for Vista are incompatible with XP. This means that the Realtek audio driver may be the Vista version. Also, some hardware has of yet no XP drivers, so your audio components were designed for Vista only.
While it may be possible to "force" the driver to work, it may involve a number of hacks to the Windows registry and other files.

Asus f3jc no sound after installing Windows XP

Hi, I solved this problem by downloading and installing a 5.10.0.5282 audio driver, which you can get here:
http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/SOUND-CARD/OTHER-SOUNDCARDS/MSI-VR330-Audio-Driver-51005282.shtml

Before running the installation, you must use your add/remove feature (in Control panel) to un-install the previous driver.
Hope this helps.
