Where is it leaking? if it is still leaking between the wet end which is the black plastic water housing and the motor then the seal is not properly set.

What kind of lubricant are you to use on the the seals and o-ring in the wet end of a hot tub pump

waterproof grease can be used on this, it's avalble in most hardware stores in the plumbing section near kitchen faucets parts , allthough for the mechanical pump shaft seal nothing should be needed to seal this if it leaks it's bad and needs replaced , but the grease is good for the o -rings in the fittings and housing

I have an above ground pool with a jacuzzi pump. (1.5 hp). I just replaced the sand in the sand filter. I also put on a new o-ring on the jacuzzi pump cover. When I turn on the filter, the pump fills up...

I think you have a air leak. A 1.5 hp motor is very strong and should vacuum well. Be careful to not over tighten the top of your pump housing.

Is your impeller in good shape? It may be worth your while to remove the pump motor from the pump. While you have it apart, replace all the seals (there is a kit for this). Inspect the impeller and all parts of the housing - any junk inside? Remove it. After you complete the rebuild, reinstall the motor, fill the pump housing with water, secure the top and start the pump.

Let me know what happens ...

How to change the seals on a jacuzzi magnun force 1 hp pool pump

Hi,
If you haven't already figured out how to change the seals on your Jacuzzi Magnum Force pump, I can help by supplying a diagram.
Here is the parts explosion for that pump.
Start by removing the case/basket assembly, then the diffuser to get to the impeller. Loosen the impeller to get to the seal plate.
When going to the trouble of changing the shaft seals one should change all the hosing seals at the same time because its a lot of work.

Sir, Is there a drain plug at the base of the pump? I have a strong leak around where the "broken" drain plug is permitting water to leak around the threads in the housing--is this possible? Please...

Not too familiar with that exact pump, but pretty much all pumps have a drain plug on the front or side of the pot, and also in the impeller housing. these allow pumps to be drained for winter storage to prevent freezing. you should be able to get a replacement from the local pool supply store. there should also be an o-ring that actually allows the plug to seal. sometimes you can replaces this sometimes it's just easier to replace the whole plug

I have a Leisure Bay 24 ft above ground pool thathas a 1.5 hp Jacuzzi Hurricane pump and a jacuzzi sand filter. The pump is moving water very well but I noticed I have "a lot" off bubbles under...

probably a "O" ring as the seal
if the pump is doing what it is supposed to be doing and everything is normal. I would not stress about air under the cover as water contains air in suspension ( how fish get their oxygen to live) and from the turbulent action of the pump impeller , some of that air will be released and collected at the highest point of the flow line

I have water leaking from the bottom of the ring lock.Took it apart don't see rubber o-ring.Is a rubber o-ring normally installed around the outside of the impellar housing? If so do you know the part...

You should just have a "O" ring on the difuser about a 2" ring at the center opening and one about the size you describe on the seal plate or in the pump housing. Ether one at the outer edge. You probally have a bad seal. You will need to remove the impeller and replace this before you put the pump back together. Generally if you pull the wires and take the pump to the poll store they will do this for you for the price of parts and can match your "O" ring's to the pump at the same time. This is always your best bet once you open the pump to get all this done at the same time. Good luck.

I have a jacuzzi magnum 1500 pool pump which leaks. I changed the O-ring and it still leaks. If I have to change the seal on it, how do I change it. I tried undoing everything on this pump. Thanks!

You need a 201 seal for the pump. Most electric motor shops that work on pumps and of course pool store carry these. If you are unfamiliar with how to change the seal, the charges to have it done are usually low. We charge $15 - $30 depending on how much of the pump is brought in and therefore remains to be taken apart to replace the seal. The seal is about a $5 item.

If trying yourself, you will need to completely disassemble the pump, lock the motor shaft at the rear of the unit, spin off the impeller, and replace both halfs of the seal.

Leak between seal plate and pump/strainer housing

The pump seal is leaking and needs replacing and requires removing four 3/8 bolts (9/16) wrench and removing the motor then the diffuser to get to the impeller and seal . A 7/16 wrench holds the rear motor shaft behind the springs and impeller spins off to reveal the seal which has two parts one on the impeller with a spring and one in the seal plate is white ceramic/ porcelan whatever they use. Part number is an SPX1600KA on super pumps and 1500KA wassome above grounds. When replacing do not touch the mating white and black surfaces with your fingers.
