Hello,
I have a Roland Juno D music keyboard which was working fine a year ago when I stopped using it. I plugged it in the other day and 19 of the keys do not sound. Also, some of the other keys play louder than others. I reset the keyboard back to it's original factory state but it still has this fault. Can anyone guide me as to what to do fo fix this?

The problem of the Juno-D is de rubber strips inside under the keysthere are 5 strips, you have to clean this rubber strips with alcohol and clean the board too, this will resolve your problem if you leave the Juno-D without playing for a long period you will get the same problem again. this is a very poor keyboard it,s a pitty that Roland Make so poor keyboard!!!!

I have a 7 year old Juno D and over time many of the keys stopped playing.. I tried all the cleaning and nothing really helped.
Don't remember how i found out about this but i did the Rubber contact repair kit and it does FIX the problem and according to the directions, it will fix it better than new.
product is made for any electronics using this type of contact. Ex: tv remotes, hand held game controllers etc. IT WORKED.
The keys are like brand new..
I am not a electrician or mechanic and was able to do this, so good luck.. Ok maybe you can help me.
How do i get a volume knob for my Juno D that just stopped working i hear low volume coming out of speakers but the volume knob does not turn it up or down.. and of course maybe that isn't even the problem. if anyone can help.. please do

All of Rolands keyboards have the same or similar contact strips. The problem is more to do with the strips than the circuit board. You can clean both and I would recommend using a pencil eraser on the circuit board before the isopropanol. Make sure you check the base of the contact strip "towers" of each key contact as they have a tendency to rip at the base with hard playing and then the strip needs to be replaced. Similar problem. I found that the network cable connecting the mother board wasnt making contact. Very bad design need to find the part to repair it.
Line Juno is a bad project, but it has good patches,,,

Hi , I have this same problem with my own Juno -D .
More and more keys went over time.. my keyboard was close to a door in the living room (not much space in house) and the first two keys that went were the two closest to the door on the right hand side...this must be some sort of loose connection with the wiring ...however some of these keys have a delayed response with some of the keys..they sound about a second later
Hope we can find a solution!

roland/ edirol have had some problems with the contcats on some of there keyboards of late.
my old pcr m-30 midi controler lost one key about 6 months after i had it, then slowly more and more went also, same with my juno d.
i had found a document on how to fix the keys on the net somewhere but at the moment i havnt found anything for the juno d
if i find something ill post up a link or how to.

I have just spent 4 hours trying to repair mine! A few years ago when I was gigging with it i noticed one key went, then more and more just kept breaking - no sound.
I opened it up today and tested the strip cable which did have a broken wire which i may have broken when I took off. I changed the strip cable and hoped that would be it but no. It seemed to be a problem with the actual contacts. I stripped all the keys off and the rubber contacts and found that the gold plate had worn off the contacts on the board to show the under coat of nickel. This would alter the resistance level accross the contacts and throw the calibration out. (Of course I'm not an expert in electronics but thats my guess.) The keyboard is *ucked. Thank you Roland I had only gigged with it for a year.
Same problem here too. but only 11 keys working
