My zune was washed in the washer and i was wondering how do i get it back to working?

I have contacted Microsoft for this issue. They told me that only Zune 30GB piece has this problem. Reason is it has a bug in it which is unable to handle the Date: 31-Dec. So, the next day on Jan 1 it will be reset and will work normally.

Just discharge your Zune completely and then charge it fully on Jan 1st.

If it went through the wash, open everything you can and let it dry out for AT LEAST ONE WEEK. Water can get into a lot of areas that are hard to dry out. Since you already tried to turn it on, it might be destroyed.

Alright, I have a 16 gb hd zune player. i synced the zune and then used the safely remove hardware to unplug it. the strange thing was is that i didnt show up as zune to remove it, just mass storage...

Hi if you tried doing a hard reset and the player boots up to 3 then goes away the HD ribbon cable could be bad. If If the player is getting stuck on any of the set when doing a hard reset then theres an issue with your HD. The HD might have a bad sector in it and will need to be ran threw some repair software to try and fix it. If that does not help then the HD will need to be replaced. The 120's are bad about having the HD fail in them.

Hold the power button for 10 seconds. this should cause reset. if it does not hold it again for 15 seconds this should cause it to power into repair mode where you will then need to plug it into your computer and update the firmware with the included software. hope this helps!

Blinking screen turning on and off
Mine does this if I let the battery get too low. In order to fix it I have to open the case, unplug the hard drive, plug the zune into my laptop and let the battery charge for a couple of minutes. I then turn it back off, plug in the HD again, replace the case, and plug it back into my laptop and it boots just fine.

I Imagine this means I have a weak battery (trying to spin the HD drops it below minimum voltage), but maybe this'll help someone else get up and running again.
