assuming you're talking about the CO buttons, you have to delete the existing config for that button, then recreate it all over again. Sorry no way to edit this config.
You have to set the button up first. You can press the FWD button (or press INTERCOM and dial *710) then x (500 or 165 for your voice mail) #, where x is 2 for all calls, 3 for busy, 4 for no answer and 5 for busy/no answer. That will set the FWD for calls. To set DND, dial *7101. Once you set those codes, your FWD/DND will toggle between the 3 steps of OFF/DND/FORWARD.
*7100 cancels the button. These are the codes for All calls. There are 711 and 712 codes for internal and outside calls if you need to split them. Also, the No Answer and busy timer can be adjusted by the *713yy command where yy is the number of seconds. A good number is *71324 which gives you about 4 rings.
This is explained in you phone system Operating Manual (OM) under Call Forward and Do Not Disturb.
It will flash for 2 reasons. The phone is in Do Not Disturb, The phone is forwarded and the lazy installer didn't change the button indication to solid.
What happens when you press the FWD/DND button on an idle phone? In most systems, it's supposed to toggle between FWD DND and OFF after you press it more than once. If that doesn't work, try pressing FWD STORE 0 STORE. That should turn off FWD/DND and unset it.
However, here's the problem. Your phone may have CF-condition set to send busy and unanswered calls to voice mail. We do that so the individual extension can set his own transfer to VM time. Those commands start with *710x and the VM extension which is 500 by default. For example dialing *7104 500 on the intercom will set CF-NA to the voicemail port on a TDA/TDE system equipped with a Panasonic Voice mail system. When that happens, the FWD/DND light goes either red or blinks red and the forward condition is set.
You can review the operations in the OM for your system under Call Forward and Do Not Disturb.
If you have not found an answer to this as yet just pick up intercom and enter 7100 at the phone. This will clear any DND. Now enter intercom 7105165. This will give a long tone and the DND/FWD lamp will flash showing Call forwarding active for VM.
Take the handset off the hook, then press the FWD/DND button followed by 0 (zero). When you hear the tone, hang the handset back up. This will work with the PT (Panasonic Proprietary telephone) system. (Alternatively, pick up the handset, press 7 (seven) 1 (one) 0 (zero) 0 (zero) and hang up after the tone. This works for PT and SLT phones (single line telephone))
The same sequence works to cancel call forwarding (except for follow me forwarding). In the Follow me mode, pick up the handset, press FWD/DND or 7 1 0 followed by 8 and the extension number. Then hang up after hearing the tone.
pickup the handset (phone... watever) and press the FWD/DND button then press #2 then type in the number of the mobile (or number you want to forward to...), and hang up the phone... then when your finished with the call forwarding function, press FWD/DND again and this time press #0
What 2 does it turn on the call forwarding feature . and 0 turns off forwarding/do not disturb functions
theres 5 different functions after you press FWD/DND
0: turns FWD/DND off 1: put the phone into Do Not Disturb Mode 2: call forwarding 3: Busy-Forwarding.. which means if your on the phone and someone rings, it forwards them to the number you specify 4: No Answer- when you don't answer the phone if forwards the caller onto the number you type in and lastly 5: Busy/No Answer- does both function 3 & 4
When I need to leave my office unmanned, I take my calls with me. Just pick up your receiver, hit fwd/dnd button, then punch in 69 and then the number of your landline and then the pound sign. When you no longer need them to be forwarded, hit the fwd/dnd button and then 0
Lift the handset, press the FWD/DND button, dial 2 and the extension you want your calls to forward to, you should get a comformation tone, hang up the handset.
Cancel the fordwarding by lifting the handset, press the FWD/DND button, dial 0 , get tone, hang up.
