Panasonic GS150 Camcorder- MAC not recognizing camera

I have a new MAC and that will not recognize my GS150 camcorder through a USB or Fire Wire connection. I am using IMOVIE and IDVD and neither are working. The MAC is running MAC OS X version 10.4.7 Any help would be much appreciated.

The problem is that that Apple tutorials and the Panasonic manuals both tell you to set your camera to "PC" when you're ready to import. At least with iMovie 08, you need to set the camera to regular "Playback" mode or else you'll get the "communication error" message.

Make sure you're using the right connectors -- the DV port on the inside of where the LCD screen opens up.

I hate it when people find a solution after asking others for help and then don't bother to post how they did it!

Oh, I figured it out. I finally was able to import from iMovie through the firewire cable. And it works wonderfully.

Hello, could you advice where I could purchase Panasonic NV-GS150 DV Camera MAC OSX 10.5 Support? I cannot connect my Panasonic NV-GS150 DV camera with my MacBook Pro. Thanks a lot for your help!...

Panasonic usually includes the Mac software program "Imagemixer 3" that imports the videos/photos you have on your camera. If the software isn't included with your camera, try Googling around for the program and it should come right up! I hope this helps. - Omn1cide

Panasonic Camcorder and my Mac - I can't download my videos to new apple mac iphoto or (image capture)

Simple fix.  This camera saves all the videos as .mod files.  But they're actually MPEG2 encoded.  If you rename them to something that ends with .mpg, then Quicktime will recognize them.

The camera isn't actually designed to work with a Mac.  From what I understand, you have to use a memory card reader to even transfer the files to a Mac.

I will email this to you as well.

Transfer from md10000 to PC

If the pc is ok but doesn't recognize this cam then the fire wire port in the camcorder is damaged and it needs further investigation inside, AND TRY ANOTHER CABLE FIRST OF ALL.

I am unable to connect my Panasonic PV GS150 handycam and Vista business edition running laptop using a USB cable. Do I need driver S/W?

You will need to install the USB driver from your software(disc) to your vista.

and make sure the computer is recognizing your camera, check under control panel and device managers list if your product is listed under imaging devices, but chances are you might be having compatibility issues since it doesnt have an updater for Vista, hope this help. pls dont forget to rate. Thanks!!
