The gas just spurts out and none goes into the lighter, same with a DuPont and Cartier
WARNING: PLEASE, ALWAYS KEEP YOUR LIGHTER AWAY FROM THE REACH OF CHILDREN. USE COMMON SENSE IN HANDLING YOUR LIGHTER.
Troubleshooting: If you are having problems with your lighter, make sure that:
You are holding the lighter upside down while refilling. If you did not hold the lighter upside down, there will be air inside the butane tank. You will need to let the air out and try refilling again.
The flame height is properly adjusted.
You are not using cheap or incorrect fuel.
There is no dirt or debris in the lighter. Try blowing forcefully into the top part of the unlit lighter.
You must use only Dunhill butane. No other tips will work. Just go to your local tobacconist that sells Dunhill lighters and they will have what you need. Also, make sure you bleed out any other butane by leaving the top unhinged for a few moments before refilling with the high quality Dunhill butane. Been there, done that! I have several Dunhill lighters. LOL
P.S. DuPont lighters require the use of thier butane and tips. Believe it or not, there is a vast difference in quality from off the shelf butane and those made specifically for higher quality ligters,
Are you using the proper tip on the fill can.?Sounds Strange inlet may be plugged but not on three lighters are you sure its not full? When full it will spurt out.look for a small adjustment on bottom n turn to the plus + side clockwise.can you see the igniter working?ignitter may be bad try holding down stricker and lighting with another lighter if it lights its a bad igniter.RICHARDM69
Newport butane is highly refined and has adapters on its lid for virtually every lighter.

I've tried all tips and tried to light with another flame - no joy, but thank you.
