X7170 not powering up

Try this approach:
1. Remove the power adapter from the printer. The power adapter is the black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer.2. Disconnect the power cord from the power source.3. Reconnect the power cord directly to the power outlet in the wall. Bypass any surge devices or power outlets.4. Re-plug the power adapter into the printer.5. If the printer won't automatically power on, press the power button on the printer operator panel.
I hope this helps.

Can you tell me where I can order a power cord for this older model dvd writer?

I'm not quite sure which model you're referring to since you haven't mentioned it. But generally speaking, you won't be able to order another ac cord without spending a lot of money.

Try looking at some universal adapters that come with different tips from your local electronic store. See if the tips plug into the ac jack of your writer. So long as you can select the right voltage and ~ right amp, it should get you going with 20, 30 bucks.

Hope this helped...

I cannot get my Lexmark 5600-6500 to turn on

Try to unplug the power adapter from the printer.
printmastert_60.jpg

Then unplug the power cord from the power outlet. Wait at least 10 seconds before re-plugging the power cord into the power outlet in the wall (bypass any power strip) and the power adapter into the printer. This will give enough time for the printer to reset itself. If printer won't automatically turn on, press the power button. If that doesn't help, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

My printer won't turn on. I have tried turning everything off and back on but it still won't turn on.

There is only one way to find out if it is an issue with the printer or the Power cord or Power Adapter.

Normally every HP printer has 2 parts. One cord connects the Printer to an Adapter. the Adapter cord then connects to the Wall outlet.

Now that you have connected the printer to working outlet, Check after 10-15 mins if the Adapter ( black box ) is warm or cold. If the Adapter is warm and the green LED light on adapter is glowing, then it could an issue with the Cord or the Printer.

Try with another Adapter or power cord to diagnose.

For Other brand printers, there should be a power adapter ( black box ) and it should be warm when connected to wall outlet, if it is not warm then it is defective power adapter that you need to replaced. Else it is a problem with printer mechanism.

I have a HP Deskjet D1560, and with the power cord plugged into a working outlet (I checked), the printer won't turn on. Is it just old? Is something wrong with the power cord or the printer?
