SOURCE: Hello, I have a pentair

turn the pump off, remove the lid and pump basket. reach your finger inside to see if there is any debris caught in the impeller. MAKE SURE the pump cannot come on at any point while you're working on it.
That should do the trick, if not, investigate an air leak on the suction side of the pump. Causes: bad lid 0-ring, threads on suction fitting leaking air in, or if there is a union on the suction side, make sure it's tight and the o-ring is in good condition (add lube as necessary).

Pentair WhisperFlo 1hp, 230v, Dual Speed won't start in morning

If the high speed side of a two speed pump will not operate it is because there is a problem with the windings on the high side of the motor.
You will need to either take it to a motor shop and have them fix it or replace the complete motor.

My Whisperflo pump has a leak in my PVC pipe from the filter to the pump. The leak is coming from the pipe on top of the pump. Please help.

The correct way to repair this is to repipe the line. If you can't do that, your local hardware may have an epoxy putty that will hold against water pressure. I would only recommend that if the leak is between two pieces of PVC piping. If the leak is where the pump meets the PVC, I would recommend repiping the discharge.

How do I remove the Inlet and Outlet PVC pipes attached to the Volute? They may be sealed with a sealant or glue and am not sure if I need to remove the Volute bolts first.

You just have to cut the pipes in a place where you can glue them back together with a coupeling. If you overheated the pump though you may have warped the pipes and will need to go back far enough to get to good pipe and replace it all the way up to the pump. They just screw into the pump and you can seal the new ones with silicone or teflon stick or tape. Don't use pipe dope as it is not good for plastic.

What kind of pipe threading compound do you use on discharge pipe?

I use teflon tape and plasto joint stick. You can also use hi temp silicone gasket as some pool companies use.
