I have a dell 160 l i need the jumper diagram for the mother board lay out
i nstaled new 80 gig and new xp pro and wont boot up
Hi,
Check that the hard drive is set to "slave" on the jumper settings where you connect it (if it's IDE). Also, check the boot order in the BIOS (or setup as it may be called when booting up) to make sure that they computer's not trying to boot off the new drive rather than the old one. I don't think the jumpers on the motherboard will help you at ALL. Drive jumpers are the only thing and as mentioned - set the new drive to SLAVE and make sure the original drive is on MASTER (this is usually all recorded on the top of the drive on the label)
Good luck!
