Question about Kenmore 55612 / 55614 / 5561 / 655619 Side by Side Refrigerator

Open Question

Need to install new control board

Is there somewhere I can get step-by-step directions for replacing a control board (part# 8201528) in my Kenmore Elite Refrigerator (model# 106.54606300). A repair person diagnosed the control board as my problem (not defrosting), and I can save a lot of money if I can order and install the part myself. I was able to unscrew the screws to gain access to the compartment, but am unsure about the next step -- there are plenty of wires running in and out...

The light may be telling you that the temperature is not cold enough to operate the icemaker.
You may have a bad defrost timer, heater or thermostat. If you have an ice bucket then it may ot be seated properly.

SOURCE: Fridge compartment is freezing

It is the part # 2315515. It is a motororized contraption that opens and closes the baffle to let the freezer air into the refrigerator. It is one part. Mine shut closed. I removed the whole thing in hopes I can do without it. It will be a trickey proposition getting the freezer temp adjusted just right enough to keep the fridge just right enough. The repair man said they are seeing alot of these right about now. They don't make em like they used to.

How do I fix error code F23 on Kenmore oven

Googled error code F32 Kenmore oven and got this: Sears Parts Quote: "The F23 error indicates a communication fault between the main electronic control and the variable speed convection board.
Most likely the variable speed control board will have to be replaced.
I recommend a technician check and repair this problem." Hope this is your oven. You can also download an installation guide and owners manual here.

I have Kenmore range model 790.9433. It is showing a F10 code. What does that mean?

Found this on for a model 790.9611. The F10 error code indicates a runaway oven temperature. The only way to reset the range, is to disconnect it from the outlet or go to the main circuit breaker of the home and switch it off for 20-30 minutes, then restore the power. If disconnecting the power for a few minutes does not help, the EOC (electronic oven control) may need to be replaced. Follow these steps to replace the EOC:

Unplug the range.

Remove the rear access panel from the console.

Write down the wiring locations, or a digital camera may come in handy for this.

Remove the wiring being careful not to pull on the wires - pull on the lugs.

Remove the mounting screws that hold the control board in place.

The new board may not come with the overlay (this is the plastic piece the covers the front of the board with all the printing on it. This can be reused. Carefully remove the overlay and place it on the new board.

Install new control board using care not to handle the board components as much as possible.

Reconnect all wiring.

Reinstall back panel.

This may not help you. Sorry. You may have to call a Technician.

Where is the defrost timer in a kenmore elite model 10654602300

As for forcing defrost on your model I am still searching for a Service Manual that covers your model. Kenmore Model 110.47561602 - HE2T. The drain

F01 - There may be an internal problem with the control, attempt a Hard Reset.

Hard Reset - In some cases the control can be non-functioning or may not accept activation from the control panel. To clear and restart the control follow the these steps:

* Unplug or turn the circuit breaker off for 30 seconds.
* Reconnect the unit to the power source by turning the breaker back on or plugging the unit back into the wall outlet.
* Press the Pause/Cancel/Stop button twice to clear the "PF" in the display.
* Start a short cycle to check the operation of the machine by selecting a cycle and pressing and holding the start button until the machine starts.

The F01 generally indicates a failed electronic machine control board.
This error code can sometimes be caused by a glitch or power surge through the electrical lines.
You may be able to clear this code by unplugging the washer for 5 minutes.
If the code returns after plugging the washer back in, then the electronic machine control board will need to be replaced.

The procedure for accessing and replacing this control board is shown in this image...,wkwdftgtbkdgfrwxgtqsskgwtqkq,vi/ksrttqdqrxkssrqtgsd/1/1303472/5961857/image12917img-or.jpg

Be sure to unplug the washer before accessing internal components.
When you access the control board, I recommend transferring the wires from the old control board to the new replacement control board one connection at a time.
Once you have all of the wires transferred, remove the old control board and mount the new control board in the washer.
Reassemble and test the washer.

The "F01" error code indicates a communication error between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the EEPROM onboard the CCU.
The "F01" can also be displayed if the onboard "Pump Driver" fails to activate.
Generally in order to correct this failure will require replacing the CCU.
There is no way to test and verify if the control board has failed.
The technical data sheet basically states to replace the CCU.

We had a small fire caused by a metal sticker inside our microwave. Now the unit is heating items, but not as much as it should. Can this be fixed or do we need a new microwave?

Use extreme caution when working on microwave ovens. Even when unplugged, the high voltage capacitor can store up to 2,000 volts! discharge the capacitor before doing anything else inside the box.
This may be a bad magnetron. Ohm test between the magnetron terminals, should be less than 3 ohms. Test from magnetron terminal to ground, should be open.

* Defective HV capacitor. Test with capacitor meter or ohm meter.

* Defective control board. Test for power going to board. If exists, problem lies on board somewhere.

* HV Rectifier is shorted or open. Test forward and reverse bias with a megohmmeter. If continuity in both directions, rectifier is shorted, replace. If no continuity in either direction, rectifier is open, replace.

In general because of safety issues (very high voltage, even when unplugged), I would suggest you get a new one.
Good luck.

I have the same problem... could you send me instructions, too?

Okay...Fixya discourages us from having direct contact with customers outside the realm of this website, so I hope you will accept my reply in this forum.

If you are talking about replacing the operator interface board, its very simple. Just follow these steps:

1. UNPLUG the washer.
2. Remove the three screws in the back of the console.
3. With the screws loosened, the console will come of by lifting from the back first. Use care not to damage the small wire harness under the console.
4. Remove the wire harness from the User Interface board and remove the knob (by pulling) from the front panel. Lay the entire control panel face down on a soft surface (like a stack of towels).
5. Carefully remove the white plastic cover plate that is installed over the control board.
6. Once the cover is removed, carefully remove the old interface board by prying gently on the series of tabs around the perimeter of the board. There may also be some mounting screws to remove as well.
7. With the old board removed, carefully install the new board by inserting the control knob shaft through the hole first. Then, gently snap the board in place, making sure all the tabs around the perimeter of the board are in place. Reinstall any small mounting screws. NOTE: Do not handle the surface of the board with your hands. Handle the edges only, to avoid electrostatic discharge from your body causing damage to the board.
8. Reinstall the protective plastic white cover over the interface board.
9. Flip the console upright and reinstall the wiring harness and control knob (The knob only goes on one way).
10. Carefully insert the console in the front grooves on top of the washer, first. Then lower the back and reinstall the screws.

The repair is pretty straight forward. However, if you have questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you. was recently brought to my attention by a consumer on this website that there is a recall on this circuit board. The following paragraph is the direct direct quote:

"I too had the misfortune of dealing with the continuous beeping on my washer (model # 110.27062600). No code was given.I called the Sears hotline and asked for the manufacturers warranty department. I then called the recall line at (800)659-7026 and after giving my model number and serial number they discovered is was indeed recalled or being "upgraded"! They have ordered the part and are sending someone out. For those who have already paid to have it repaired I would call Sears and ask for a refund. Good luck!"

If I understand this correctly, you may not have to purchase a new control board. Or, if you did, Sears may refund the cost and provide someone to install it for you. It may be worth your while to contact them to find out. I hope all this information is helpful to you.
