Removing tank filler cap

Should be the same as any other bike. Put the key in the gas tank and turn. Might require some fiddling, but is there not key hole in the filler cap or something?

One or two things. Does the cap lock with a key? If so, the cap is either still locked or is remaining in the locked position. Get it to a lock specialist as soon as possible. Another possibility is that the lip on the tank filler neck is damaged, and the solution is to force the cap off. If nothing else works, you can remove the filler neck from the tank by undoing the flexible hose that holds the neck to the tank, the bracket/s that holds the neck to the body of the car - this must be done usually from the underside of the car, and there should also be screws that hold the filler neck to the body inside the filler well. It is a finicky job, but if you can do this, you can take the neck complete with cap to someone who can help, or get a new neck from the dealer or a breaker yard and fit a new cap.

Many ride ons have a breather in the filler cap to stop a vacume in the fuel tank, try just slackening off the fuel filler cap and see if it runs ok, if it doed just replace the filler cap

You may be able to obtain a replacement key from your local Suzuki dealer.

10mm drill bit drill the key hole, and then unscrew the lock from under neath after taking cap off.

If the cap is OFF the tank or if is ON the tank and have enough gas, you can have the key made at any key shop for about $5 if it's OFF or about $25 if it's ON. which is more than what the cap is worth.
If the cap is ON the tank, you better ff removing the little circle where the key hole is and pull out the key tumbler, if you can't do it, insert a medium to large size flat head screwdriver into the keyhole and turn hard counterclockwise until the tumbler gives up and cap can be removed. be careful not to let any debris get into the gas tank. REPLACE WITH NEW CAP.

Just after machine dies set park brake,remove fuel cap,cycle key on/off and see if you can hear the fuel pump in tank.You may need to be very close to tank in order to notice it.If no sound from tank replace pump.The X400 series are known for their fuel pumps crapping out.

You don't. If there was an easy way to remove it there wouldn't be much appeal for the lock function.

Ideally. you will need to have a locksmith pick it.

Alternative: Drill out the lock cylinder (bad idea, possible debris entering fuel tank).

Or my personal preference: big channel locks.

you may need to call a lock smith. if you attempt to remove the cap by force you will damage the filler neck adn cause an evap system leak. if you cut the cap off i would be concerned with debris falling into the fuel tank and causing drivability problems not to mention the possibility of making a spark at the top of you fuel filler neck,.... well you see where that is going. maybe there is a number stamped on teh cap near teh key hole that would be helpful to teh locksmith.
