Once you have the plumbing disconnected and valve removed,
Use a shop vac. Works well.
Once the sand is almost all removed, you can tip the tank over & rinse out with hose for the rest.

SOURCE: Bought a new home with pool which has the Hayward

Need some more info on the Sand filter. I can help you out. With the rest. Is that the pic of the filter you have. If it is then its a top mount. Depending on the debri that comes into pool, you will back wash 1-2 times a week. After back washing you will turn to rinse and let it run for awhile (of course each time you turn the handle make sure the pump is OFF. Set, then turn on.) then back to filter.. Any Q's just hit me up buddy..

SOURCE: replaced sand now filter isnt working

if u used play sand, or any other type of sand thats NOT pool filter sand, that could be the problem. also if there is too much sand or too little sand that could also cause this.

SOURCE: Where can I get a seal for the flow valve on a

www.arrowmotor.net and use the contact button. You would likely want the rebuild kit that includes all the gaskets and o-rings.

Be sure to include the model number off the valve, which should have SP at the beginning.

Try changing the setting on your pool filters control valve to waste. This will bypass the filter and vacuum directly to waste. If this works, it could be a problem with the filter's "filter" setting and you may need to service or replace your control valve.

Can you backwash on a Hayward swim pro filter system

Yes you can. The only filters that need disasembly are cartridge filters. Here is the link for the Hayward owners manuals. The manual explains the procedure depending if you have a multi-port (rotary) or push/pull type valve.

I believe that the owners manual has a parts listing to help you distinguish the part that you will need to buy. However, if your pool filter was purchased in 1990, you are probably going to need a new filter. Most do not last over 20 years.

I NEED A LATERAL ASSEMBLY FOR MY SW256T SWIMPRO FILTER

The SW256T was a marathon group exclusive. It is not standard to the Hayward catalog. You are not going to be able to go into most dealers and ask for parts for a 256 and find it. The good thing is with the exeception of the tank( which should be greenish in color) All the parts used on the filter are in the hayward catalog and are used in other filters they sell.
You will need to call hayward, and find out the part number. Id love to say it's same standpipe on the S230T or 244T but I can't be 100%

How to change sand in Hayward S-200 Sand filter

hayward S-180 filter takes 150lbs, S-210 takes 200lbs not familur with the S-200. To change sand you have to remove the vari flow valve on top. You can either unplumb the filter and roll it over on its side and try washing the sand out or try scooping it out upright. Whatever you do dont damage the laterals on the bottom of the filter. When refilling with sand you want to make sure all the laterals are undamaged and in the down position. I always fill the filter half full of water to keep the sand from damaging the laterals while re-filling the filter with sand. Make sure you use pool filter sand and not play sand!
