Toshiba vcr tape stuck after power outage

Do you have any small children who have access to the machine? Kids are notorious for posting coins, half eaten biscuits and bits of toys into the tape slot. 1st give the machine a light shake and see if it rattles, next remove it from any power source and remove the cover. You may find something obvious, if not, reconnect the power, being careful not to touch anything inside, and try to load a tape. Dirty heads WILL playback, but will NOT record. The standard for these machines is load spool to erase head, to video head, to soundhead, then between drive spindle and pinch roller and on to take up spool. Has the tape you are trying to record had the tab removed, if so (like a pre recorded tape) it will NOT record until you place a piece of tape securely over the tab hole.

The recorder dosent errs why

Hello you can erase the recorded messages one by one or all massages in folder at time

Note once a recording has been erased, you cannot retrieve it.

Erasing messages one by one

1 Press ERASE while playing back the massage you want to erase or press ERASE for more than 1 second during stop mode.

A beep will sound and the message number and "ERASE" will flash while the first and last 5 seconds of message is played back 10 times

2 Press ERASE while the message is being played back.

The message is erase and the remaining messages will be renumbered. (For example, if you erase Message 3. When erasing is completed, the unit will stop at beginning of the following message.)

Erasing all messages in a folder

1 Press FOLDER to select the folder you want to erase.

2 While pressing STOP, press ERASE for more than 1 second.

"ALL ERASE" will flash for 10 seconds

While the display is flashing, press ERASE.

I had a power outage and now I can't access the drive and at first it wanted to format but said formatting wasn't possible

I will need the exact error message that you received from the pc about your hard drive.
1. After a power outage there is a surge of power that will come when power is restore on a AC grid and will shoot that voltage to every house on that grid and sometime if no surge protection is on the appliances in this instance your PC it will sometimes fry a component a mother board or a power supply.
You may have gotten a full voltage surge through your power supply that didn't affect any other component or peripheral but the hard drive and thereby rendering it to be disabled.
2. Take the hard drive from out of the PC cabinet or let a qualified PC tech take it and check it. The EMF ( electro magnetic force) could have erase the MBR (Master Boot Record).

"could not repair disc" after power outage

If this happened after a power outage and not a hit/drop then it's probably fried the board to the hard disk, you can often get another board from the same model drive and fix it, by swapping the boards over.

WE HAD POWER OUTAGE/NOW WE HAVE THE LETTER A--WONT GO AWAY

Your machine is set to "Announce" instead of "Answer" mode. The announce mode merely plays an outgoing message but does not record any incoming messages.

Since you neglected to specify the model of your VTech 5.8GHz cordless system I can only suggest you enter it into the search box here to download a copy of the manual to learn how to switch modes.

Cannot operate svr-925 digital recorder, need manual

How to Record:
1. Make sure HOLD switch (on side of unit with pocket clip) is set to off position (slide to right is off - to left would be hold)
2. For best results set unit with mic(rophone) which is on top of unit toward sound source and press REC/STOP button (Top button on front of unit just below LCD display). Recording will begin and will be indicated on LCD display.
> Red Record LED will be on and the message number, recording time will be displayed on the LCD.
3. To stop recording, press REC/STOP button one time.
* If no other buttons are pressed within 1 minute at stop position, it will power off automatically.
4. Pause during recording by simply pressing MODE/PAUSE button- press button again to resume.

There is a Voice Operated System (VOS) Recording button on left side also. You can record with voice activation to conserve recording space but I have found that you lose a portion of the recorded sound as it activates and if there is no sound for a very few minutes the unit powers off and you will get nothing further recorded. I recomend just keeping VOS in off position.

5. To erase a recording: Select the message number you want to erase and while it is stopped (the message number will appear in LCD with the length of recording showing also)
Press and hold the ERASE button until the LCD begins blinking "ERASE" then, while it's blinking simply press the erase button again and the recording will be erased.

6. To play back a recorded message find your message by "toggling" the switch on the right side of the unit that says INDEX. That switch is the fast forward/reverse play etc. To Play simply push the switch in. This button/switch takes a little practice to use but the Play portion is straight forward. Use the front buttons to pause and stop during playback.

Hope this helps.

GE Model 28871 corded phone

Maybe your Power went out. Go through Menu, try to re-record your outgoing message (chances are it was lost during power outage). After I did this, I did not see the "St" anymore. Good Luck, hope this works for you.

The pre recorded message on the answering machine has been lost.

I read thru the manual. There is nothing bout recovery of factory messages. If you recorded your own, try deleting it. Or unplug the base from power and try a reset. This is from the manual. At the end, I gave you a link to the manual!

Using a pre-recorded greeting
message
If you erase or do not record your own
greeting message, the unit plays a prerecorded
greeting message for callers
and asks them to leave messages. If the
message recording time (page 39) is set
to “Greeting only”, caller messages
are not recorded and the unit plays a
different pre-recorded greeting message
asking callers to call again.
