Roxio easy creato 10.came with viao computer running windows 7.it will not detec my dvd-romm drive.

Hi, I had no trouble using my Roxio 10 with windows 7 and my DVD drive. Make sure you have the latest drivers for Windows and your DVD drive. What worked with XP and Vista will not always work with Windows 7. See if your DVD drive manufacturer has an updated driver, or even try drivers from similar manufacturers. Sometime they share driver software. I hope you get it going. Thanks, Bill

Roxio dvd burner problem

ensure that you have roxio disk or that you can reinstall it from your pc factory utilities (on dell, hp etc. under start button/all programs)
Go to
control panel
add remove program
remove roxio and install it again.
If it does not work, Windows may have developed a problem. In this case run system restore to an earlier date.

EZCD 5.0 and EZCD 6.0

I don't think that 6 and 5 are compatible 6 is an upgrade from 5. I have just 5 on one of my old XP computers and it works fine, but that's all I have. I went to the website and they are not giving any support for Roxio 6 anymore.
I will tell you that Roxio Easy Media Creator is fantastic. The things you can do with that are unbelieveable. I got it at Sam's Club for about $70. But I know that does not solve your problem.

Roxio 5
To burn data files, Open project selector, make a data cd, click data cd project. WhenEasy CD Creator 5 opens and you choose your files to burn, try this: Select Disc at Once Radio button, click okay and click burn.

OS: Issue When burning a CD or DVD, you receive an error, burning does not complete, or your media is rejected. Resolution Burning errors can happen for a variety of reasons. Roxio has found that doing the following steps resolves about 80% of all burning issues. Please give all these steps a try and see if it fixes your writing problems.

  1. Update your drive's firmware/drivers. Most companies regularly update their firmware and drivers. If you are unsure what model your burner is and its firmware, click here to find out.

  2. Enable DMA. Direct Memory Access enables better efficiency of data. For more info, check how to enable DMA.
  3. The media. Check the following:
    • The disc is clean and unused.
    • The media is recommended by your burner's manufacturer or try a different brand, preferably a name brand, if you continue to have problems.
    • Make sure that media (-R/+R, -/+RW, dual-layer compatibility) is supported by the burner by checking burner's manual or manufacturer's website. This is especially true for some Blu-Ray burners which do not support CD-R/RW media.

  4. If your burner is external, make sure it is connected directly to the computer via USB/Firewire and not a hub or other other device like a sound card.
  5. Update to the latest PX Engine. The PX Engine improves compatibility with newer burners on the market.
  6. A reinstall of the burner's drivers may also help.
    • Windows XP: Go to My Computer and choose Properties.
    • Windows Vista: Go to Start --> Control Panel --> System and Maintenance --> Device Manager.
    • Click on the Hardware tab.
    • Select Device Manager
    • Expand DVD/CD-ROM Drives, then select your burner and uninstall it by right -licking on it.
    • Reboot.

I do know if you have Roxio5 you cannot installed Nero 6 InCD, not compatible. Other than all of the above, I have no more suggestions. I am really sorry, wish I could work on your computer to figure out the problem. This is my specialty. Reloading computer and figuring out problems. It is so much easier hands on.

DVD RW - Installation Problem

Ok. What I am going to suggest may seem like a daunting task but if you are careful and do only what I suggest you should be ok. The first thing you are going to have to do is manually make a change to the Windows registry to fix the permissions. 1. Fix registry permissions a. Click on "Start" choose "Run", then type "regedit" and click "OK". b. In the Registry Editor, click on the "+" next to "HKEY_Local_Machine". c. Now click on the "+" next to "Software". d. Right-click on the key (folder) called "Roxio" and choose "Permissions". e. Make sure that "Administrators" and "System" have checkmarks for "Full Control" - "Allow". f. If you had to add those checkmarks, click on "Apply". g. Click on "Advanced". h. Put a checkmark in "Replace permission entries on all child objects with the entries shown here that apply to child objects". i. Click "OK". j. Click "OK" again. k. Now close the Registry Editor Next, you will have to uninstall the Roxio software. 1. Remove Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 a. Go to Start--->Settings--->Control Panel--->Add/Remove Programs b. Select Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 and select "Remove" c. Once the uninstall is complete, reboot the computer. 2. Reinstall Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 a. Insert the CD and install as you did before and then reboot. If you have any issues uninstalling the Roxio, go to the following link to download the Microsoft Cleanup Utility... http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301 Run the utility after the unistallation attempt and then reboot and reinstall Roxio. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Easy Media Creator 7.2

You may need service pack 2, but if you have; then the software may not be compatable with SP2 and may need you to visit the Roxio website for any patches or fixes. There are other programmes you can download for free from the internet to try instead, although, i would recommend Nero 6 or 7. Also ensure you have enough system memory as these programmes take up usage memory, then require more to manipulate and burn videos etc.
